First Time Grower!

Well first of all Im new to the sight,and heres my journal...Ive never grew before.I cant smoke or even be around it right now and my brother was smoking the other night when I got the idea...I new the basics of germination and that was it...I geminated them in a paper towel,I had about 4 seeds that sprouted,I bought some miracle grow potting soil and some miracle grow,I planted them in a 12 inch pot.They all full came up but 2 wilted because i had a bulb on them that was to hot and 1 didnt grow right at all,but one is growing very strong it is about 4 inches tall now and has 4 very good looking leaves.I know Im a newbie and done alot of things wrong but im very proud of my crop...Any and all feedback and comments will be very appriacited thanks alot...

quick question during the first weeks how long should i leave them in light and i now have a flouresant bulb hanging about a foot and a hlaf above my baby what time ratio of night and day should i have light on?

thanks alot and ive got it in my basement out in the open by this big air vent that sucks out old air and its very vented down there and again thanks for the tips
