Completed lollipopping the mama plants. The air flow is way better but the plants keep growing. I hope they calm down soon. These four plants are going bonkerz and I don't know why. The stretch is a bit much and I have increased the light since the last round. Maybe it was the ph down I added into the hydro system? I need a hydro expert in here stat! These plants just double in size each week! Looks like this will be a 10 week grow sesh under LED/CFL combo setup. If this canopy maintains i'm cool. This is by far my biggest canopy yet. Cheers. So-cal hydroponic system, grow tent, humboldt nutrients, under LED and supplemental lighting. Veg room always has 8 clones. The best 4 are then moved to the 12 gallon hydroponic tote for 6-7 weeks before they move into the bloom tent. These strains will take 9-10 weeks to complete.

@GroErr So it is round 3 of the Aurora OG and the Cheesey smurf living together. I got 6 random seeds from the Aurora and 2 seeds from the Smurf. Did they cross-pollinate each other to create a new strain? 2 Months ago, I saw that the Aurora throw off some pollen sacks. How can I cross these strains? I love the genetics of both. The cheesey stretches too much but the smell is epic and the Aurora is the best smell on earth and a very short plant. The cheesey smurfs are going nuts right now. 3 smurfs and 1 aurora in the tent now. I'll take another photo tomorrow. Week 2 in bloom and the plants are 3.5x bigger. I dont know wtf is going on. These plants have lost their minds!!

In my experience, the plants typically stretch for about 2-3 weeks, so it sounds like they don't have much more left to do. Some strains will give significantly more stretch than others. The only way to know what to expect is to look for other grows, and then to try it out yourself. But then really, you have to several grows to get a good representation of things on average, because every now and then you just get a crazy plant.

On your question around pollination. Can't say what happened, but since you didn't pollinate, sounds like one or both hermied, that is they were originally female and threw some balls/pollen, maybe late so they didn't pollinate all the bud and you ended up with a few seeds. You have no way of knowing but if they were seeds from a hermie they're probably not stable seeds and you'll end up with more hermies. They'd be fems but more likely to produce more hermie plants. Proper way to make/cross seeds is grow a male, collect the pollen, then pollinate a female around 3 weeks into flowering, that female will produce seeds in its buds and will be a cross of the 2 strains. There's a lot of other things you can do beyond the initial cross but if you're thinking of doing it, you should do some reading/research, there are tons of sites and threads in here with step-by-step directions and pics. It's not difficult at all to make a basic cross but you'll need some pollen so you'd need to grow some reg seeds, get a male and collect some pollen as a first step.

I'd be more concerned with why they hermied and keep an eye on both strains for signs of balls. If they hermie and throw pollen at the right time they could pollinate your whole crop. Free seeds but not the kind of seeds you want. They (or one) may have hemied due to stress and could be just fine if their environment is stable. The flip side is one or both are hermie prone, in which case you'd want to get rid of it.

Thanks for responding. I have to show you guys...In two fucking days they turned into Little Shop of Horrors. I cannot handle any more growth. The damn colas are blasting out the tent when I open and running up the sides. I am not complaining whatsoever but it is amazing me to the point I may pass out. I Lollipopped all plants a couple days ago because they were done stretching....rrrright! I was so fooled by these little fuckers. They won't stop making tops!!! It is 4 awesome plants that want to produce! This is so much more than expected. I
Very happy!!

I don't have room for a male plant so I may have to hold off on cross-breeding. Are you using feminized seeds, breeder seeds, high genetics? I have blue dream, aurora og, and cheesey smurf.

I buy regular seeds if the breeder offers them, if it's a strain I want to try and they only offer fems I'll buy them but I prefer reg seeds. If I get a male I'll collect the pollen then cross it later. Last year I ran a few crosses. This year I'm growing the one's that turned out best and looking for some nice phenos. 4 of the 7 plants in my flower room right now are crosses from last year and it looks like I may have one keeper in a cross of Jack The Ripper x Blueberry :)

Just focus on growing fems for now once you know signs of stress, nute burn/def/lock etc then start running males your plants look healthy though goodluck

@GroErr Ok...Can you help me bro...Why are my plants continuing to grow in bloom. I'll show the tent tomorrow and it has literally tripled in size in a matter of a few days and does not appear to stop soon. What would cause the plants to grow so much after being switched to bloom? Im talking 2 feet of growth after switching. I just dont get it. Advice anyone?

This first couple of weeks you're in are called the stretch. All plants stretch, some strains more than others (there's argument for light/environmental factors that can reduce it but strain is the main factor). You should start seeing them slow vegetative growth and switch to growing buds, should have some signs of buds by now, you're about 2 weeks in aren't you?

yep, Two weeks and the buds are coming in. Wait till you see it. Last round it barely grew above the Scrog. Albeit, there were only 2 plants but this round the grew much more during the first two weeks.

Yeah, they should stop growing vertically and concentrate on throwing out buds now. First time you grow a strain you'll need to take note of how much it stretches when you flip to allow for it if you'll be running clones later.
