I had no idea a clone could go hermie...This is a sad loss because this the other Aurora OG clone is dying. This strain must live on!! The smell is off the charts. Can I take a cutting of the Aurora OG mom that is in flower and try another clone or is it too late?
Ouch, yeah definitely male balls there. Any plant can hermie, can be environmental or genetics. You can always try a cutting (I'd take 2 or 3 at least), all that happens is they take longer to root and re-veg. I've done them as far a 4 weeks into flowering.

If you let it pollinate itself the seeds you get will be feminized and also very likely to be copies of the mother (S1 seeds)

Nevermind...Just got the top and it looks good and planted it into the hydro clone bin. Will the now S1 feminized plant pollinate the other clones and cause them to hermie?

The trait will be there for the seeds it produces and if it pollinates the other plants they will be feminized crosses of those plants.

It's a very real possibility if the plant hermied because of genetics. There's arguably a case for fem seeds from a environmentally stressed hermie. Personally I wouldn't chance it for a few free seeds, it takes a lot of work/time to find out if those will be stable or not. I'd take some clones off the flowering mother and triple check she's not hermied before taking cuttings.

Clone #1 of the Aurora OG is the hermied.. which we saw. The other clone in the 5" hydro pot is oh so sad right now. I transferred it to the 12 gallon tote and she does not like it. I am thinking that it may be best to take a top cut of "sad Aurora, Last of the Aurora" and hope it will be be like Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy. Not worried btw. Its my first genetics and it's to be expected that I want to keep it going. The truth is..I only want ultimate genetics. This might be normal genetics for all I know. Learning is fun. Cheers.

Thanks for the support guys. I think I may need to get some beans. Totally down to clone these but What are your favorite strains to grow? I really want the cream of the crop!

Ha, if there were a clear answer to that I wouldn't have just finished running 9 strains - lol. What do you like/prefer, e.g Sativas. Indicas, type of high, is yield your biggest factor, quality or a mix? SO many strains/options, that's half the fun, try them all!

Gonna try a durban poison strain soon. It grows tall but I will top it to keep it under scrog.

It is a deep mahogany rich flavor...There is no strain that tastes even close. Durban Poison is one of the only strains that is 100% land race sativa. Flavor city!

Do you have access to clones? If not I would suggest trying to find a hybrid strain that has good reviews and not a lot of phenotypes, run feminized seeds till you got your grow dialed in 100% then try breeding projects because they take your whole grow space.

Update..Clones took off and the Aurora OG is in mason jars...Cheesey smurf is drying. Ok...So...If you are topping...You can do it early and get two plants in one. Look at the horseshoe stalk that was cut down. The yield was 3x that of the aurora in the same environment. Here are the photos.

Grats man, how's next run looking?
Here are 3 Cheesey smurf clones and one Aurora OG clone...I don't have any new strains. I will be taking clones off these tonight to keep the strain going. It was strange, In my Aurora OG which I chopped a few days ago had 4 seeds in the entire plant. They might be poppable. The next run is ready to go into the tent for flower next week unless you guys think I should veg longer. Take a look and let me know. Thanks. P1030731.JPG
