First time grower Candy Kush Auto Aerogarden Ultra Comments and Suggestions Please

This is my first attempt to grow my own. Thought the aerogarden would be an easy way to start. My plants are in day 51 and i'm beginning to realize why people only grow one plant at a time. I started off with two plants. One plant locked out on me. I had a lot of issues with that seed. Took a lot for it to germinate. The other plant has grown beautifully. But ever day I see the plants leaves near the buds to be drooping. Cant seem to figure out why. So normally I spray them down with some bottled water to keep the leaves nice and moist. I'm using Flora Series 3 part nutes, Distilled water, Air pump, 10" Air Stone, Aerogarden light and pump, LED 300w panel, and some CFLS. Ph level Range from 5.4-6.4. I try to keep it under 6. Ive seen a lot of people post their PPM. For some reason as I progressed in the growing stages my PPM hasn't gotten passed 440. I've read other post saying they feed the plants at 1000 PPM during flowering. Should I be boosting my PPM's? I'm just afraid of burning them at mid flowering. Also I've read about Loliipopping. Is it to late to do that now at day 51?

not trying to diss ya,but its better to start with a soil grow on the first try,i only grow in soil,so i dont know much about what your doing,my current grow is in 6th week of flower and buds are alot bigger then yours are,but i grow mostly indica ,im doing first indoor grow now with 4 plants,1 is looking super, the other 3 look great too but much smaller and frostier buds, there is plenty of sections here u can find help for your piticular growing situation,im also useing leds and t5s but ones i made myself.good luck

Keep you PH @ 5.8. 5.6 to 6.2 is OK, But no room for fluctuation if your on the edge of the range. I PH everyday. I grow in a bubble bucket and I have never "KNOCK ON WOOD" Nute Burn. I have had my PPM as high as 2200. Good luck. If you grow a photo, you only need to grow 1 plant at a time.

I never considered the temps because the room stays rather cool most of the time. 70°f. 20% humidity. I honestly think the reason the buds are small is the reservoir size. The roots on this girl is crazy. The aerogarden is more for clones. I decided on hydroponics because it seemed much easier and quicker grows. I appreciate your opinions and comments. For a first grow I think I'm doing pretty good.

Get a Sweetener like Big Bud, Bud Candy, or Floranectar. It will make your buds swell. The res wouldn't cause the buds to be smaller The entire plant would be smaller. Raise your nutes ppm also, but def at a carbohydrate based nute

Why is soil better? I find hydro quite simple and lots of info out there as well. Just wondering why you think soil is better?

Res size does matter imo. Have you change water? Perhaps due to root size you dont have enough oxygen. Also lots of people keep ppm no higher than 600-700 me included. Not sure if the droopy leaves are a bad thing but im a newb as well!

I didn't say res size doesn't matter, what I said was the buds wouldn't be smaller due to this, the plant size would. Droopy leaves usually means over watering, so you may be right with the aeration. I have always kept my ppm over 1000 and never had an issue with burn. I try to keep ppm around 1200.

If you can add another air pump. BUT DEFINITELY ADD A BUD ENHANCER AND A SWEETENER

When in doubt, flush it out. My ph was too low. But since I had to fill up the majority of the res, I rinsed the roots with fresh distilled water. Then I bumped the nutes to 900. My plants look super healthy. My question is when do I stop the nutes? I've read when the trichomes begin to turn but only the main cola is showing color change. I don't want my buddy to be premature. I plan on using the bud candy on my next grow. I hope to get a bigger yeild. Creeper, nice girl you got there. I was too afraid to over nute my first grow.

Well things are still looking ok on day 60. Nutes are still in the 900s. What's the water temp supposed to be? When i checked it this morning it was around 73f. buds seem small but smell great.

I think 20% humidity is slowing the growth as well you should really be about 50 - 60 in flower. Water is best when kept below 68F 73+ you can get algae growing. For a first grow I think things are going well. As for the PH I start at about 5.6 and it will climb to 6.5 throughout the two week reservoir, I believe the fluctuation is ok as it takes up different amounts of different nutes at different PH levels. I have a 25 gallon res and my 8 plants will pretty much drain it in two weeks, I clean it, fill and add nutes, PH it to 5.6 and let it go until it gets low on the pump about 2 weeks, rinse and repeat! ;) When I change out the res the ph is about 6.5, it slowly climbs throughout the 2 weeks.

Good luck and enjoy the learning process.

I've been doing as much research as I can. Watching this girl grow has been really exciting. I know I'm not gonna yield a lot from this but anything is better than nothing at this point. :D thanks for the input. Its a great learning experience.

Very interesting... I'm going to be putting together an aeroponic system in the next couple weeks to run some experiments with. I'm just trying to soak up as much information as possible before I get started... going to keep an eye on this thread, please keep us updated!

Oh yea... HELLO ALL! :p

Its been a great learning experience. I cant wait to try some home grown. I think my grow has been extended do to the growing environment. Humidity and air flow play a big part from what I've read. So far my girl looks amazing, to me. Buds are nice and dense and smell amazing. Im almost at day 70.

That person that told you to make the humidity 50-60% is wrong, do not do that it will promote mold. I have been flowering in Colorado with 30% humidity for a while and NEVER had a problem with growth. I would say the biggest problem you have is probably light intensity. LEDs are great but they may take slightly longer to bud up plants compared to HPS lights. Not to mention all flowering times you read from breeders are all based on HPS growing schedules. And rez temps are very important 68-72F is optimal if you go past 80F you will get slime, slow plants or burn them and hurt your final product. Biggest problem with aerogardens, and exactly why I only use mine for cloning. Smaller rez = harder to control the heat plus it is directly under the lights, a fan blowing across will help or a frozen bottle of water.
