First time DWC - General questions and concerns!

Well, I've decided to start a DWC grow... I think I got it down pretty well..

I got a 30 liter container, 5 holes in it with net pots.. an air pump, a bubblestone, ph+ and ph-

What else do I need?

Like, I know I need nutrients.. But which? And how many different ones do I really need? I see people using 6 different types.. Seems really illogical to me.. But what do you think?

Grow, micro, calmag, and bloom. those are the main nutrients, all the others are additives that 80% of the time don't do shit. As for what brand of nutrient, well that's the fun thing about growing, it's all an experiment. I'd say try a brand that sticks out to you the most, but do some research and see what people say about it. I'm running a mixed brand nutrient solution and the plants seem to love
it.
X nutrients -grow and bloom
Botanicare- cal-mag
General hydroponic micro (and bloom now cause the shop was out and closing there business)

I'm also running dwc.

Advanced Nutrients. They cost a little more but use standard dilution rates across the board to help prevent screwups.

Recommend their Sensi Grow and Bloom series. I also strongly suggest VooDoo Juice and B-52.

Alright, thanks man! I've heard about sensi before! Also, what kind of mix to water would I need? 50% 50%? or does different nutes come with different ratios?

Also, what kind of water? Tap?

Thanks!

a bigger container, cause 5 plants in 8 gallons will work your ass off.
I misspoke earlier, I got 51 liters actually, for 5 plants. Is that better?

I can understand grow and bloom. But what is calmag and micro for?

Looking into sensi! And, do I need 2 different nutes, or more than 2? I'd love just sticking to a grow and bloom.. Without all the extras.. Is it really needed?

Also, where do I find those rates?

Totally agree. I had 6 in a 22 gallon. Cut one down. 1 is now stunted due to space and 4 survive well but why even waste those 2? Insanity. Next time just more 5-gallon units in my case. Easier to manage.

Sensi Grow and Sensi Bloom grew me quite a few gigs before I added B-52 and VooDoo Juice. The dilution rates are on each bottle but 2 ML/L of water. I always - ALWAYS - start 1/4 strength. But you can do an entire grow with the Sensi Grow and Sensi Bloom. Soil or hydro. I use it in both. Same stuff.

Alright thanks man.. I'll get sensi grow and sensi bloom to begin with!

But was 51 liters enough for 5 plants?

I use Advanced Nutrients Jungle Juice GMB ther complete set in liter jugs is 25$ my plants are HUGE. IT's cheap, easy to use, and from a very reputible company. just my 2 cents
