Ok I think I'm ready to start my first grow thread. After a couple of days here reading like a nerd and soakin up info like a sponge here goes. I'm growing in coco and perlite, 70%/30%, 3 gal hempy buckets. Lighting is now (3) 105w cfl's until I move em into my 10' x10' grow room under 1000w hp, temps running at 72° humidity is around 64%. I mixed the coco using 3 tsps of FloraNova Bloom and 5 mls CalMag Plus to 5 gal RO water, the mix ph'ed at 5.8. Soaked my beans in RO water for 24 hrs then the paper towel. At 3 days the roots were 3" long. Soaked my rockwool in the same mixture the cut in half as not to damage the roots and pot in the buckets. After 8 days I was not even happy but after some time here my worries have been relieved a bit. As my baby told me "be patient and do doubt yourself so damn fast. Give it a little time" and as usual, she was right. I was getting too high temps ( 81°) with (6) 27w clfs , cut back to 4 and then changed them all together and had the glass coffee table brainstorm and it lowered my temps where I think they should be. I was feeding / watering daily but I think I will skip a day and see what happens. I am nearly out of my first 3 gal and will mix another tomorrow but will be using well water( funds kinda low at the moment) on the next mix. I will still use the same ratio until they get a little bigger then increase the FloraNova to eventually 6 tsps per 5 gal...Any info, and now I know I will get a lot, for which I will be grateful..

Ok guys here is my question, I'm in coco. I keep reading how you shouldn't feed these seedlings until week 3 or 4 maybe but that is in soil. I am feeding mine daily using about 1 tsp of FloraNova Bloom and 1 ml of cal Mag Plus per gal. My first batch which I ran out today was 3 tsp to 5 gal. Gunna mix more in the am. Am I over feeding?? I have noticed a big a difference in growth this past 2 days. Should I continue daily feeding, I feed around the outside of the plant past where the rockwool cube is and they are getting about 1/2 a pint each....

Had to move my lights up a little and move things around. Now the ac vent is clear and I have my temps back where I want em. Went to 24/0 on the lights and I will continue my daily feed. I can see a difference in the growth since Fri morning. Its getting better for me at least.. :weed:

I had the light a 4" or 5" inches off the girls, at the time there was (6) 27w clfs and the temps was hitting 84°. I changes to the 3 105w clfs and it dropped to 86° added a fan but still not enough. thought abut how some hoods have glass, had a glass coffee table and tried it. It lowered the temps to 75°-79°. Moves things around in the room and set em up where the bigger fan is sort of blowing across the ac vent on the floor and now we are running 76°... I am always looking to improve my germination room. :weed:

That's not too hot. I believe 76° at canopy is supposed to be the best. 80° won't hamper ya... I have run hotter on photos...

I'm not that experienced to know what temp to reach, I just want my girls to be comfy :D so you say 76F is good? then I will not touch temperature.

Do a little research on the subject. Read some grow threads here. They usually mention temps Believe me, just because somebody on the net says something is right, I'd look for a little conformation from another source my friend. ;)
