You don't want water stains on any porous material. Can cause problems over time. Other than that you're on the right track. Just keep at it. It takes more than a few grows to get everything dialed in, and even when you get everything the way you want it someone will find out some new method of better doing things so it's always a new learning experience.
Which is part of what makes growing so fun. The fact there are so many intricacies to coax different potentials from the same strain. With as much time as it took to map the human genome, it is a whole new ball game with cannabis considering so many people are becoming home taught geneticists. Let alone how many and who's trying to preserve land races for original genetic stocks.

Hello everyone, I know it seems like I'm posting a lot, but I feel like days go by and I completely miss them, so posting is helping me keep track of the time of year and day of the week. Honestly I can't believe it's December already, like wtf happened to this year, where did the time go??? But anyways, here's some pics of the ladies, I'm a little worried about the stretch for the sativa dom looking lady, as when I switch, she could easily double in size, and I might run out of head room for her, so I'll need to decide whethrr to switch at the end of next week or veg a little longer until the end of December.

Tell me what do you guys think I should do?

So yesterday I bought another 150w ballast and hps bulb so that I can add another 150w to flower with. I just need to get a few more components as I put my lights together from scratch, I will post a small DIY post later in the week, probably sunday to show how I did it. It cost me around $20 for all the components to build the light. It's going to be a dual bulb homemade wing reflector hps setup. Single ended bulbs. I'll post some pics as I go along as well as the DIY thread.

Here are some pics from this morning:

Pic 1 : Plant 1 Top View
Pic 2 : Plant 1 Side View
Pic 3 : Plant 2 (least healthy as suffered serious deficiencies and heat stress)
Pic 4 : Plant 3 (Youngest plant, outdoor)

So plant 3 is growing really well, loving the sun! Just have to hope it's a girl.

Take it easy guys.

One thing I need to ask are you using foil as a reflector for the inside of your grow box?

Hey man, I'll check out your grow now, I'm using space blankets which suck, I don't recommend using them, rather buy this old school car windshield sun visors (the ones that fold up) and cut them to size. They're also really cheap, so it's not a huge difference in cost.

Take it easy man.

Bro have you tried a cheap white enamel paint. paint it on instead of using the space blanket as a reflector is would work better for reflecting light use multiple coats.

Please note that this is my opinion from reading stuff Bru so not practical experience but foil and other reflectors should be avoided

So here's an update,

I am going o be switching to 12/12 today as I'm really worried about space. When this lady stretches, it may become an issue and I don't want to risk it on my first proper indoor grow.

Here are the plants this morning, please give me your thoughts on height and stretch as I may be being paranoid haha.

Pic 1 : Plant 1 Side View
Pic 2 : Plant 1 (bushy for a sativa?)
Pic 3 : Plant 2 (the runt of the litter)
Pic 4 : Plant 3 (the outdoor beast!!!)
Pic 5 : Plant 3 (Fan leaf)

The outdoor plant is growing like crazy. We've had lots of storms which have been feeding her some water and I've been adding sea kelp and worm castings to the top soil and letting the rain flush it down to the roots. Whatever I'm doing she seems to be liking although I should be saying whatever she's dealing with (naturally with the elements) she's digging!

Tell me what you think?

Take it easy guys.

Hey Bru thanks for the updates and like.

I have some thoughts Bru but please note I have never grown indoors only outdoors so my observations may not be worth much.

That being said your Plant 1 looks like she is going to outgrow your space when you flip. U don't notice any topping? Did you too the indoor plants? Plant 1 looks a bit late to do though and plant 2 is almost too late....

My suggestion - go get some stakes and plastic coated wire ties or soft string or plastic coated wire. You need to LST them as much as you can without snapping the stems then immediately flip after you have tied everything down. Be careful though your plants stems look hard already I did mines when they were green and soft and my DP / local sativa is short as shit but I have to tie almost every second day because of the growth after the rains

Outdoors plant is looking good...top her now she is ready and start training her to be low. You also get more weed if you LST so it is not only for keeping plants short but boosting yield also

Hey guys, so here's another update for you all,

I was worried about stretching, so I have decided to flip the girls early, it is my first proper indoor soil grow and I'm still in the learning stage (although I've heard it never ends) so rather safe than sorry.

I managed to rid the plants of the aphids. I did see one small yellow brown spider on my plant, I think it is safe to assume it feeds on aphids as since he's been around, they've slowly been disappearing over the last 5 days. I'm a little worried that it is a spider mite, but I doubt it, I would have seen tell tale signs by now. I'll try and get a picture of the little guy, just so you guys can give me some reassurance that he isn't an enemy.

I've already noticed some slight stretching. She's probably grown about 7 cm in the last 4-5 days so I'm seeing some nice growth.

Some pistils have started showing so I'm thinking that I'm going to get an okay harvest from her even though it's just bagseeds. But only time will tell us.

My outdoor plant was topped and now I'm letting it grow a bit more, we've had some hectic rain storms lately and she looks like she took a bit of a beating so I'm letting her recover before I top her one last time. Otherwise she seems to be doing well. Some leaves do show that she's being eaten by something, but I haven't had a chance to check for signs of plant/leaf devouring enemies of the cannabis growing community, yet! But when I do discover who it is, severe action will be taken against them!

Here are some pics, please give me some feedback on your thoughts?

Indoor plants look like they have excess nitrogen (leaf tips clawing downwards)
Outdoor ones look happy as a pig in shit.
Hey man, yeah, I was worried about her having a deficiency so I added a little nitrogen to her water about 2 weeks ago, but all I'm feeding her now is plain tap water. She's a fast drinker, but that's also due to the smallish pot she's in. The girl outside has received a lot of rain so I think some of the nutrients have been flushed but she seems healthy!

Thanks for the reply!

Take it easy!

Cool, just be careful with n tox in flower. It can make harvest taste like grass, among other things. Best of luck!

Nice plants bro!

Especially like the outdoors one keep it up!:bigjoint:

I think it was the right decision to flip the indoor girls. You don't know how tall they would have got and running out of space is a bitch.Next grow you will probably know more and get more yield

Will post pics of my plants this weekend

Sharp sharp. Maguve signing off

Hey everyone, sorry I've been so stagnant with this thread, here's an update...
So it's been 5 days since I posted some pics, and this morning I took so.e new ones, so here they are.

Pic 1 : Plant 3 (Outdoor Plant)
Pic 2 : Plant 1 (Main cola)
Pic 3 : Plant 1 (Side View)
Pic 4 : My newly founded vegetable garden.
Pic 5 : Plant 1 (Secondary Cola)

So the outdoor plant seemed to have an aphids issue. I pressure hosed the plant, left it for two days and it seems to be doing a lot better.

@Mazoz thanks for the recommendation to check for snails, unfortunately I didn't find any last night, but I can guarantee they're here somewhere. Will keep a look out and when I find them, I'll inform you guys.

Thanks again, tell me what you think about my plants as they've been on a flowering schedule (12/12 lighting) for around 2-3weeks I believe.

Peace out.

Nice post bro. Hope you win the pest wars! Kill em dead!

I like the indoors girl going to be interesting to see how far the buds get seeing as it is a local sativa. Keep posting those pics bro. Like the vegetable patch make sure you send me some stuff you grow!

I like the outdoor hydra. I'm away from my plants for the week and I am relying on nature and a good soaking before I left to pull them through...Will post pics when I am back.i also got someone to take a look and they promised to water but I'm not sure if they will...hmmm

Good growing man.
