Hey all,

First off I'd love your comments, and any advice.

I'm nearly 8 weeks into this grow, which is my first indoor grow. Full disclosure though, I've helped out with a lot of friends' grows over the years.

I started one feminised seed each of Rene, Girl Scout Cookies, 707 Headband, Kosher Kush and Medi Haze, which I bought from Pick and Mix Seeds. They all sprouted soon enough, and did well despite some early leaves warping a little from being exposed to extreme heat (they were in the window for the first week so I didn't have to fire up the 400w dual spectrum Sunmaster right away). Disaster struck when looking after my mum's dog; she ate the Kosher Kush seedling! I ordered another and the Kosher Kush growing now is a week younger than the rest.

They've been under the 400w, in 11 litre pots, with Plagron Lightmix soil. I don't know why I didn't mix in some perlite, but next time I'm thinking I'll use a much airier soil with coco as well. For the light schedule I'm using the gaslamp technique; 12 hours on, then an hour of light in the middle of the dark phase. I noticed that as soon as I flipped over into flowering they grew an unbelievable amount over the next two days, which could be all of the built-up flowering hormones.

They've been getting Plant Magic Oldtimer (organic) Grow and Bloom, as well as BioBizz Alga-mic, Plant Magic Root Stimulant and some BioBizz Product X testers (I think they've called this something else now, with Aloe in the name). I used a foliar feed called Quick Veg, which I wasn't too impressed with. I've also used Plant Magic Boost every 12 days, and an organic foliar spray to kill bugs (and have disinfected hands whenever opening the tent). sounds like a lot of nutrients but I've been using 1/4 to 1/2 of the recommended doses and haven't seen any signs on deficiency. Slight red stems on the GSC and the Medi Haze now though, so I'm getting some molasses which will hopefully help with that.

The tent is 120cm x 60cm x 200cm, a little narrow for the coverage of the 400w but it fits my space perfectly. I have an 8-inch low power Ruck fan extracting air through a Rhino filter, and the light is cooled by a 6-inch low power Ruck fan. Noise is a bit of an issue, I used acoustic ducting throughout but it hasn't really helped. I struggled with temps initially but now the lights are on at night and it's between 23-26c.

The Medi Haze was spindly but has become a fantastically vigorous plant which already smells like strawberries. Suits SCROG really well as it throws out so many side branches after being FIMed just once. I think I'll return to topping next grow, I didn't really see the point in FIM.

The 707 Headband was really quick in early veg but has settled down now and is just chugging along fine. Nothing remarkable to report on it yet but it's doing well in SCROG too.

The Rene was bushy, grew with great structure and had deep emerald leaves. Unfortunately it turned out to be completely male so I had to cut it down, which left a prime space in my canopy. I was really disappointed in this seeing as it was supposedly a feminised seed, and I was really looking forward to trying a strain from House of the Great Gardener.

The Kosher Kush has been hard to train into SCROG but after some tying down it's doing fine. Have been tying down all plants quite aggressively over the past two weeks of flower to keep an even canopy, and the Kosher Kush and Medi Haze in particular wanted to stretch out.

Last is the BC Bud Depot Girl Scout Cookies, which has been a funny plant. It threw up a mutated leaf very early on which had the effect of topping it, so it's had two main stems from the get-go. very thin, sativa leaves and never looks as keen to grow as the rest. It's looking like it'll have great bud structure though.

I'll keep this up to date every week or so. I'll be taking them to 10 weeks at least, and flushing for 3. I'm wondering what my yield will be in the end, and I'm aiming for 5 ounces.

Next time I'm thinking of having 8 square pots to cover the canopy quicker and reduce veg time, and also sticking to fewer strains. I'm thinking of HSO Blue Dream, Kosher Kush or Jamaican Pearl (smoked it years ago and have never forgotten it). I'm also hoping to do organic hempy buckets, so any advice on those would be gratefully received!

Well of course ur a woman and not a chick. So I see you use plagron, you speak in cm and not inches, and you make a very polite remark like, "gratefully received".

So I'm guessing you're in the UK?

I'm watering about 600ml every other day, though I've noticed that they're getting a lot thirstier over the past few days. Water PH is between 6 and 6.5. I'm using bottled water only as the tap water here is ridiculously hard.

Nope, I like gettin high way too much to be a narc haha. But anyways....you Brits are always so well mannered..good thing though.

Your grow looks to be spot on. Nice color, good vigor, you've done some lollipop action. The cooltube is set up very well and the trellis has created a bunch of tops!

You get an A so far skippy!

Make your own RO water, it's much better. you're spending way too much for bottled, and when they get thirsty to the point of needing water every day...$$$$

Know what I mean Jellybean?

I would love to get an RO filter, but I can get 5 litres of good water for £1 and an RO filter costs a lot more than that! Will look into it for the next grow. I need some more supports for the trellis, as you can see it went pretty wonky and the plants pushed it up a fair bit so I had to tie it to the pots in places. Still though I love SCROG and I'm surprised more people don't use it. Thanks for the feedback, it's very reassuring to hear!

I don't have my handy dandy pounds to dollars converter handy but I'll take ur word for it. It's ok if its wonky, just anchor it down and that will work fine.

I'm going to lurk around other areas of this forum, I'll be back to check on ur grow again. Keep up the good work cool breeze...

You can see an area of the canopy right under the light where there were only fan leaves, so I defoliated to hopefully get some of the baby buds underneath basking in the light.
