First grow, Power Flower (Royal Queen)

Strain: Power Flower (Fem) from Royal Queen (freebie from Herbies)
Medium: Fox Farms Ocean Forest (5gal pot)
Nutrients: Jack's BB/AP (Blossom Booster & All Purpose), Molasses (unsulfured pure blackstrap)
Lights: 1x42w, 1x40w, 2x23w

first time grower here, and i've just been gathering info as i go along on this journey.
i will be updating this post with pics and so on..

i'm using a cardboard box (18h x 24w x 18d) and it's working out until i decide to change it up once
she gets much bigger. i put mylar around for reflection.

recent pic from earlier. watered earlier today and put a lil more soil on top cover the stem.
there are some battle wounds, but she's tough and still growing. LST a couple branches with a wired hanger i cut up.
(day35 from seed, day9 of 12/12)

day38, day12 of 12/12. second feed of nutrients. 1gal volvic water, 1/2 tsp of BB/AP, 1 tsp of molasses.


day39, day13 of 12/12. tied 4 of her down (blue string) to get more light in. did it right after her nutes.


edit: added two more 23w bulbs (another softwhite, one daylight). 174w in total.

started smelling around the end of week 1 and been feeding every week so far.

you've been feeding it jack's since she popped out of the soil ?

And, what dosages have you been giving her ?

oh nah i haven't, just every week so far since 12/12.
been using the nutrients in the soil for a month, until i started giving it the jack's/molasses.
1/2 tsp of bb/ap and 1 tsp of molasses in 1gal water.

pics of day42, day16 of 12/12. after a gal of water. the hole is when i put a portable humidifier in sometimes.
used for the fan to push the air out. duct tape up when not in use.


wanted to show my cardboard box setup. i moved the lights up more towards the top of it.
mini fan to the left, hole on the right for it to push outwards. the two big lights are 40w & 42w, the others are 23w.


tiny pistils showing(?) i don't have a magnifying glass yet for closer pics.


i plan on getting a couple of pc fans and switching one to be an intake. would work well with my next grow.

edit (day43, day17 of 12/12): re-tied string to pull her down some more from lights.

i ended up switching up the box to a bigger size, i'll edit with a pic later on

edit: new box from, as you can see, uhaul. a good size for a start to finish process.
wish i got this one in the beginning. ended up changing it because the lights leaned in one of the fan leaves.


box flap opens (bit of mylar below). added a car sunshade for reflection (reverse side) instead of the mylar before.
lights are up top w/ the fan. still doing adjustments & i'm still pulling her branches down from the lights.


day45, day19 of 12/12. gave her 3L of water, then 250mL of water w/ 1 1/4 nutes (bb/ap, molasses).
she seems to be getting thirsty almost every 3 days.

no pics at the moment, until later on today when the lights come back on. (i'll edit this post with them, so check back)
i didn't give her any nutes this week, just straight water which she's been using up damn near every 2 days.

had a couple accidents with the lights being too close, but she's still strong and overcoming those light burns.
first time grower, so i'm def newbing it up when it comes to adjusting them damn lights n' whatnot...

but i've fixed the lights up properly to where they won't fall down/too close..
a few more hairs showing as well..

I was gonna comment and +rep anyway but now that I saw this Uhaul box I've been using the same box hahaha

hahah i guess that type of box is handy around.

cool man, i was gonna use that one also but ended up getting the grand wardrobe box. over 4 years old now and still kickin, LoL. leans a little but gets the job done. only thing i dont like is that these boxes are not the same size, i wanted to add the shorty to the top of the grand but they dont fit. plant looks great tho!!

pics were taken yesterday after i gave nutes. (1/2 tsp of BB and AP, 1 tbsp of molasses)
4th feed since the switch. her last feed was on day45 fs, day19 12/12. so it's been a close two weeks.
gotta get a new fan since the old one broke on me. i'll have to take better pics with this messed up phone.



@CD been eyeing your growbox, and i love it! i def have to buy that Large wardrobe box my next grow..
already have it planned out once i get those seeds.

jg...about how tall would you say she is now ?

And, have you noticed significant vertical growth after you switched to 12-12 ?

I guess so I knew I wasn't the only one who noticed it comes with a metal bar to hang your lights

she's about 21 inches now. & yes, ever since the 12/12..
she's been growing bit by bit to where i have to tied her stems down little more to keep away from the lights.
but i stopped doing so about 5 days ago & she's been still reaching.

very nice buds! what strain is that? looks delicious i must say. & i'm glad i got the bar with it, comes in handy foreal.
but i had to add about 2 bars to spread em out a bit.


EDIT: currently germinating 2 seeds that i've had for a little over a year..
the most i can say is that they're either Blue Cheese or Cherry Pie seeds. hopefully females.. cuz i have about 14 more sitting in a tiny capsule.

thanks man, its perfect 2 plants or maybe 4 small autos. i added a little to the top to make about 5 feet tall, works for me, LoL.
