DAY 9 - OK yes I do get up early every morning to check on my babies. I just worry about them! So i get up to check, and then its back to bed if possible :) GOOD NEWS! All eight are looking GREAT today. Even the 2 weirder shaped ones are looking normal today as their leaves are opening up. They seem like they are growin more slowly than other seedlings i've had but they look very healthy and yes, they do have nice thick stems! The humidity was back down to 45% today, temp was 76 degrees F. I can't wait to get them under the HPS so their growth can really take off. I ordered new soil, grow bags, perlite (i'll prob. use just a little,) and nutes the other day from HTG. I plan to transplant them and put them under HPS in just a few days or a week. The reason I start them under flouro is simply so I don't accidently cook them (soil dries out too fast under HPS for those peat pots!) OK, back to bed now :)

Thanks! I'm actually a mommy not a daddy but yeah... Anyway
, I plan on vegging 3-4 weeks. I have to keep my plants small as my space to flower in is only 2'deep 2' wide and 4' tall, plus the pots and enclosed light take up room. I want to try some method to keep them short. I was thinking either LST or topping? Any opinions on what would work better? Also, if i topped, I would then be cloning each plant wouldn't I? I could do it at the very end of veg and then start the clones as I flower the first jh. hmmm... decisions decisions...
First, sorry Mom! I could have sworn that I'd seen some pollen sacks on you, but I'm so paranoid about hermies from my "feminized" seeds that I'm seeing pollen sacks everywhere.

Second, I'd swear we're growing in the same space, and I've found that with my six plants things are a little tight in the 2x2x4 hydro hut. I've got four 8"x8" pots and two that are a bit taller, but are 6"x6". What kind of pots are you using?

Third, topping is different than cloning, right? With topping (or fimming), you're lopping off a portion of the top of the plant, to encourage her to branch out, but cloning gives you an entirely separate plant, albeit one that is genetically identical to the original.

If you did clone at the end of veg, you could have a continuous flowering chamber, and more regular harvests. If you cloned your girls, you could set the clones in a separate veg chamber, and when the donors were harvested, the clones would be ready to flower! A tempting thought, but I grow just for personal use, and I don't need weed by the cubic yard every eight weeks.

Hey Shiek... i really hope i don't have any "sacks" of any type on me... yuck.. not on my girls either of course. This is an all female grow! No boys allowed!
Yeah we are Def growing in the same amount of space right now! My veg area is 2' deep 2'tall and 4'wide. Are those the same dimensions of yours? My bloom area is twice as big, 4' wide, 2' deep and 4' tall. I am using just little peat pots right now, but when i switch to the lower and larger chamber, I will transplant into 2 gal grow bags.
Well I was thinking that I would be doing both topping AND cloning at once? As i would top the plant and then use the piece I lop off as a clone? I am only assuming that is a possible method of cloning. That would be my exact idea, the continous harvest, I can keep the clones in veg until the flowering is done below and then switch? The only prob is I would then have to find a new place to hang dry the harvested plants. hmm... i dunno i guess i will decide all this as I go, opinions anyone?

Wow sheik thank you! I will try and make sure my journal remains worthy!
DAY 10! is here! The girls have not changed too much, growing pretty slow but then again, they are under flouro. I can't wait to get them transplanted and under HPS. Temp was 75 and humidity 51% this morning. Today I will ph test the soil and also take some new pics. Updates later :)

DAY 15-
Sorry for lack of updates but im redic. busy with school and life lately...
ANYWAY I transplanted the seedlings yesterday. They were not thriving at all under the flouro in the peat pots so i moved them (pot and all) into 2 gal grow bags with Ocean Forest soil and a little perlite mixed in. Its been less than one day and they are already looking great and GROWING!! The humidity is lower, only 39%, but the temp is 80F in the new space. They are now in a 2' deep x 4' tall x 4' wide space with a 400 watt HPS. the pics suck as their from the cam phone, hopefully ill get some better ones soon.

Sorry for lack of updates! Life has been crazy. But the Jack are still alive and doing great. Last update I had just transplanted them. I soaked them like crazy when I did that, but I think I did not use enough perlite in the mix because they were sopping wet for awhile. I think that slowed growth at first. After a few days the pots starting drying out and growth picked up. At first they were very short and bushy, just perfect. Lately, they seem to be stretching? No idea why as the tops are about a foot from the HPS! I started flowering on March 16 - exactly 1 month since I started the germination. process. Here are a few pics as of yesterday, sorry crappy camera phone quality, I'll try to get better ones asap. Btw I am ferting w/ every watering, every 3-4 days w/ Iguana juice.

OK so i checked out the girls today thinking they were getting burned by the light. But Actually it seems like a nute lock out problem. Some of the plants are wilted over a little at the top (weak stems?) and the top new leaf growth is curling over? Also, some leaf tips are yellow. So i check the soil ph, it was around 7.3-7.5 so def a little high. I had been using tap water that goes through a softener. I used it last grow no prob, but maybe the jack are just more sensitive? I soaked the plants with water i got at a state park, ph was lower (around 7) and I added 30cc of clearex per gallon. Unfort, with my situation I could not have 90% runoff but there was plenty of runoff. I am hoping this will solve any nute lock up probs? I will only be using this new water from now on. I didn't fertilize this time as I want to be sure of the problem first.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!! Thanks

Hey good journal
Kind of a crazy jump with the photo update lol
I think i might start using the same fert as you. Do you like them?
i also think you should get some better pots the bags seem like they would disturb the roots if you had to move the plant when its wet and also the drainage cant be that great ..
ill be back I wanna see these lovely ladies bloom.
cheers :leaf:

Just a question, what seed bank offers feminized Jack Herer?
I was under the impression that Sensei Seeds was the only one with the original Jack Herer and I can't find any information regarding feminized seeds on their homepage.

I'm so sorry everyone, i totally flaked on this grow journal :(

The grow turned out so so. The weed was dank but there was not a huge amount of it. it was also not very dense, rather it was quite fluffy and mostly hairs?

Def got us mad ripped though.
