Are u going top it ??? Is it an auto or photoperiod??? What strain u working with??
It is a photoperiod. They are barneys farms blue cheese feminized. I have been trying to get grips with what type of training I will do. I have plenty of space horizontally and about 6-7 feet of height to work with. I can already tell that my lower leaves are being shaded by the upper ones. So I think I'll be looking to tie down some of the upper leaves. As far as topping how early can I do it. And can it be done more than once. Also any suggestions on any other training would be welcomed

After third or fourth node , u can top 2 or 3 or just once it's all up to u .. I topped after fourth node than two weeks later again might have been three weeks can't remember exactly it was months back and I have slept since than .... And than tie her down to make sure the inside of the plant gets plenty of light ..... as far as mainlineing I have never done HST that requires twisting the stem but not snapping it u can find a lot of help on grow weed easy.com there u will find almost everything you need to know I do a lot of reading than after that practice makes perfect..... The 6-7 feet high is that before they reach your lights or is that total height of your grow tent ?? Like mine is 63" tall but I have a 12" in. Deep air cooled light so it cuts me down to 50" than 8" before too close to the lights....

Bought a couple things from the store today. Tape measure, ruler, and some of those bendy little arts and crafts thingies so I can start some lst. Measured whole bathroom and it's approximately (rounded up) 11x6x9. Fan I ordered was 6 in inline with 440 cfm. I'm thinking I could exchange that for a 4 in with a little lower cfm. The 6 in was only like $10 more and I'm a more is always better type of person plus I knew I would be getting a controller so I didn't think this was a problem as I could adjust my fan. But if getting a 4in will work more efficiently and be more savings wise as far as light bill I will reconsider. Other than that I don't mind keeping the 6 in and just adjusting properly

Tied them down using just common sense I was trying to expose as much inner growth to light as possible. I only did 2 out of the 3
Before u start tying them down u need to top it .. The light will get to the bottom no matter what like a 600 watts MH/HPS will penetrate 36 " I'm not sure what kind of light u r using ? If u tie her down like that with out topping I really don't c any reason to do it unless your running out of room which I doubt

So I should just leave them alone i.e. Untie them? I'm using a 600 watt mh. I'm not running out of room. I just wanted to make my lower growth explode with growth as well. I want a decent yield lol. So untie them and let them do their thing?

I don't know when to top it lol. I have about 6 feet of height and plenty of space around them. From what I've read I should be looking to switch to 12/12 when the plant is about half the final size I want it to be. I have plenty space for the 3 plants. Nowhere near that halfway mark

They are ready to top once u top u can't switch to flower for atleast 2 weeks to make sure they recover
Understood. They are only 3 weeks old so if I top now they will have plenty of room to recover. Don't plan on flowering for atleast another 3-5 weeks

True but if u have six feet of space to grow I wouldn't switch till they were 3 feet tall .....Not all strains triple or double in size my last one when switched only grew three more inches.. I had a 11 inch plant and got 3 ounces off of it dried because I topped it and tied her down.. She might have been a foot and a half tall.once u top it it'll stop growing for about a week or two.. I also read that barneys blue cheese is a short plant anyways so it's not gonna stretch much after veg that's what the breader said on there web page it's a short stalky plant so I wold let her veg atleast till it's as tall as u want her

Cool deal u will be happy u did when harvest comes around
I hope. I plan on topping a few more times. Maybe again in 2-3 weeks depending on growth. I have plenty of space that I want to fill in with multiple colas. Going to the store to get some poster board to strap some pandafilm to to try and contain as much light as possible. Hopefully this will help explode the new growth as well

2 days since they were topped. Same day I topped them I started to notice what I guess is "tacoing" of the leaves. They were still green but looked a bit dryer to me than usual as well. Moved my light up and pointed the small stand fan directly at it. This seemed to be the problem as things are looking better now. The air from the fan blows on my plants WONDERFULLY and cool the hell out of the heat from the light. 2 birds with one stone! Taped some panda film around some cardboard to enclose the plants more and get the most reflection and light containment from my light. Already see how it boosts growth! Still haven't rigged up my inline fan yet because I'm nowhere near flowering (stench) and as I'm able to have the door open to replenish CO2 and my central ac and fan help with temperature control
