First grow, grow closest almost complete

I've finally acquired everything I need and will begin tomorrow after completing my last task of installing my intake ventilation. I'm growing in coco using fLora trio and cali magic as my nutes.1456898525265-401284517.jpg
I'm not to happy with the location of my carbon filter but the best I could come up with for now. Hopefully it all works out. Any comments welcome. I will update regularly so If i run into problems I can maybe get some advice. Hope all goes well, invested way more than I originally planned but once I started figured I would try and do it right. I'm using a 250 watt hps by the way.

Tight,, nice lil set up make sure the room isn't sealed tight or cut a small intake hole so the exhaust doesn't choke

Thanks, I've got another inline fan and I'm going to cut a hole and run intake tomorrow. Just have to pick up some duct to do it. The room isn't sealed tight eother.

I've decided to only grow 2 plants the first time around. That way i can tend to them and not become overwhelmed. Plus I'm concerned this 250 watt hps wouldn't support more than 2. Not properly anyway. I just gave my first round of nutes last night and they took it well. I'm growing in coco which is great so far. Makes the fear of overwatering not as big of a deal. They are about 72 hours old, barely 3 days and they both look like the one in the pic.

My one concern is I've had my light about 10 inches about my plants for last 24 hours. They seem fine and stay about 82 degrees. I hope it's not to close for young plants tho. I don't want them stretching either tho.

250 can support 3 plants nicely its depends on the space. But you used nutes too early unless you have the worst soil possible, check out my journal and the deformities from feeding too early.

Move them a little further away, 1-3 feet at most unless you have great cooling and venting. My current 1 plant is about 1 1/2 foot away from my 400W, any closer they start cupping,

The original first leaves are curling down, have from the start, I've wondered if that's from having light to close. They seem to be progressing nicely tho

Would the cotyledon leaves curling under be a indication of light being too close. You can see what I'm talking about in a pic I posted in this thread a couple hours ago.

Well I raised the light a day they seem to be raising up and u curling so I guess that answers that!

I like it! It looks clean and tight. I used 250w as my first few lights with my current grow. Pretty satisfied. Good luck

Looking good man!

I have a 250/400 open bulb sun system i started with. Produced a really nice first crip. I got into their 315w lec hoods pretty quickly. I have two now and it's all the light I need for my personal smoke. 250/400 watt retired. The cmh produces some nice trichome covered buds. I'd check the cmh out when you're ready for new lighting.

That's all I'm growing for, personal smoke. I thought real hard about going the led route. Might try it on my second grow. The nice leds cost a fortune and I was concerned the cheaper ones wouldn't work. I'm a farmer by trade so I've actually been growing corn and soy beans my whole life, just never cannabis. Lol

Thankyou, I tried my best to put together a decent grow closet for about $500. I'm pretty happy with it. Runs a little hotter than I would like but its manageable for now.

I ran at over 90 for a while with 2 HPS lights, it was hell, i could not get the temperature under control. Finally running 82-84 high 68-70 low

I'm running low to mid 80's, high 80's if I don't watch it. Plants seem ok tho. I've got a fan blowing right over the top of them so I think that is helping.
