I'm having trouble with the feeding/watering schedule as of now. I can't tell how dry the soil is. They're drinking quickly I feel like. The pots seem semi heavy but I can't tell if it's just soil weight from 5gal buckets plus the plant or water hahaha. I'm too noob for the weight thing. The soil three inches down is dry and I hit roots with my fingers lol. I'm going to wait till tomorrow night I think? Or should I feed them tonight?

They're using water at an amazing rate now.. I do light watering in between nutes and regular watering.. if its dry three inches down give it like a third of normal.. The pot weight works well in smaller pots but kinda hard in a five gallon..
These bags are even worse... If you can move em, they need water.. suckers are heavy..

Thanks my man! I have to go to sleep at this point :( but I'll give them the full watering tomorrow night then! Or should I try for in the early morning when I wake up at 3am haha??

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone. This site has been great. Good community!!! Sooo different than car forums lmao!!
I woke up 10 min earlier and split the gallon of nutes between the two ladies

2.5ml FloraNova Bloom
5ml Seaweed/Fish extract (1/3 rec dose)
5ml Cal-Mag +
2ml Potash Plus

Some added nitrogen to take them through week 2 into 3 and hold them off through the end of the stretch which looks almost over. Don't think they had much stretch in them due to all the training maybe? The main shoots did grow a good 4/5in so far tho ha
Half strength Bloom nutes still
Upped the calmag from my normal 3ml feedings to 5ml

When they dry out I'll give them a fresh watering and then I'll cut the fish/Seaweed and give them the full 5ml bloom and keep up the potash plus a ml each week till the end maybe. Unless they tell me otherwise...

Officially the beginning of week 3 flower
Burned a couple leaves last night touching the cfls lol. Keeping them too close. Can't wait to one day go led and quit messing with these! Saw a couple gnats near my tomato plant, maybe three. Put some yellow gnat paper in there
Going to pull the plants today and prune the canopy a tiny bit. Maybe. Don't want to pull any important fan leaves right now so only stuff I can't tuck. Just want to free up some airflow again to keep the temps more even etc. Might be ready for a watering today as well.
Getting nervous about my yield at this point. Reading people harvesting 18 grams under cfl lol. Not to be sounding crazy but I was for sure hoping for an ounce or more between the two ladies. I'd be very happy if I could get too but now I'm kind of thinking they don't have the height for that. Pic from last night.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised at harvest.. They're just getting started..
Really?! That's ecouragaging. Just reading a lot of cfl horror stories about people yielding 10 grams, or 18 grams, etc. on their first grows...makes me nervous.
I'm trying my hardest with the environment most of all. I might put my window AC in today and put it on a timer with the plants. Opening and shutting windows isn't working and is too all over the place. If I can get it locked down now I can prolly yield even more than if I had it all outta whack.

I did cfl for quite awhile just to stay away from the heat of hid.. One of my best lights was 2 x 50 watt hps mixed with 3 x 85 watt 27k cfls.. Worked great but you had to have it almost touching the tops... But I averaged better than 50 grams a plant using 105 watts of cfls per plant.. If you want more height raise your lights about 6" let em reach a little..

Nice sounds like a cool mix! If I was to continue growing after this I'd be mixing in other things but I'm just waiting to buy a house and then just go cob led from timber lights... all tech will have been analyzed by then and I won't have to do as much research haha.
.
.
Week 3 starts, 10:20pm
-Fully pruned/lollied both plants, took probably more than 20% of the leaves off. Really freed up the canopy and under growth, pulled the weak shoots down low that started developing
-Top two inches of soil was dry but below was still a bit moist. Gave them each half a gallon of water to help with the pruning stress. Ph was 6.1. Left it and watered.
-Tucked and weaved fan leaves to allow all sites light.
-Tied down and pulled branches diff directions to re even out the canopy again after stretching. Not too harshly though ...
Caught a couple gnats on my sticky paper, added a peice below each canopy and one up top.
-Turned the inline fan up to high (205cfm)
*still need to remove carbon filter and clean it and shake it etc*
Bud are looking good!!! Dropped the lights back down and we'll see how they do this week.

Cobs r the way to go man. I love my cfls to but I only use my cfls in veg. At the time of going to flower i asked myself if i wanted to get flowering cfl bulbs which woulda cost me about 80$ or Go a different approach. i decided to diy 10w cob chip led instead. Cost me 33$ for 40 of em. (2) 1 inch 3 feet cut to 18" of aluminum square stock 16$ and i bought a laptop cooling fan with 4 fans 21$ 7$ for artic silver, 12v power supply 378 watts can power up to about 30 amps i had extra at home and i put me together a 360w led light for my 2x2. Just about 80 bucks. Figured the led would be better for flower, n i like to diy plus it seems more room effecient as it is only about 3 inches thick and covers 18". I did add extra bs to the light. Maybe unnecessary things but eh lol. All them cfls and stuff i bought and extra cobs and all i put up for backup. Justin case of emergencies. You do have a sweet ass setup!
