Strain: Unknown Bagseed (Can this change?)
Day: 3
# Planted: 7 (So far 3 have shown signs of life)
Nutrients: Not yet
Water: Filtered water, 24 hr sit time before use (Will this be a problem?)
Lights: CFL x3 800 lumens 60 Watt Equiv. 5,000k (Totals = 2,400 Lumens 180 Watt Equiv.) --> (Is that enough?)
Light Cycle: 22/2 (Was going for the full 24 but decided they would at least want the 2 hr rest.)
Indoor grow in a 30 gal. tub.
Soil is organic starter mix (peat moss, vermiculite, perlite, and an organic wetting agent)

For flowering lights I will use CFL x3 1600 Lumens 100 Watt equivalent 2700K (Totals = 4800 Lumens 300 Watt Equiv.) --> (Is that enough)

Not sure about nutrients right now. I did buy the MG tomato bag but there is a lot of debate out there. Nice to find a forum to do this in. Thanks guys and gals!WP_20140223_001.jpgWP_20140223_002.jpgWP_20140223_003.jpgWP_20140223_004.jpgWP_20140223_006.jpg

It started out great, I had 4 sprouts thriving.. Then one day I woke up to all four dry and shriveled up.. Not gonna lie I literally thought this wasn't for me and gave up before I invested in my grow setup.
I posted pics and nobody could really give me an answer to what happened which made me even more discouraged. I did however spend 200 bucks on seeds that I hadn't touched yet. curiosity got the best of me so I decided to go ahead and order my led light and try again.

I was told it looked like over watering but I struggle believing it. I did water a lot though so I'm hoping that was it. I also believe the nutes in the MG killed em as well. They were bag seeds and I intended on using fox farms for my actual grow but the closest vendor was a 2 hour drive. That's why I picked up MG from a local store, to hopefully get an idea on the road ahead but not to waste my good seeds. Also because I didn't have money for my setup (the light is 575$) and wouldn't until the 21st. .

I ended up stopping by the hydro store two hours away and shared limited info on my grow and what happened. The dude and I talked for like 30 minutes and his knowledge restored my hopes of doing this successfully. I ended up grabbing some b&g soil, some nutes, ph tester etc...

Long story short I'm making some adjustments with water amounts and going with a better soil. Hopefully I get a little further and get to the end eventually.

This pic was the day I woke up.. I had just watered(why it looks so wet)

Regardless good luck and I hope to learn from your grow!

What counts mainly is the learning experience. I am not expecting much from this batch other than the experience. If I do a decent yield, well, then so be it right? Lol! Keep me posted on your new set as well. I woke up today to 4 other sprouts although they don't really look that well at all. As if they fell over.

Yes, originally I did 5.. those were the ones that I mentioned dying. I want to do more than two so bad right now but I need to hone my technique before I start expecting to handle too many.

The soil is getting dry very quickly. I find myself watering them at least twice a day. Is that normal?
