Hey so this is just from the forum I opened for my first grow but yeah incase you haven't seen it essentially here are the basic details:

Strain - Barneys Farm Acapulco Gold (Fem)
Growing media - Coco/Perlite mix (50/50)
Lights - 200W CFL for Veg, 250W HPS for Flower
Nutes - Canna coco A+B, Rhizotonic
Light cycle - 18/6 Veg, 12/12 Flower
Feeding - Drip Feeder feeding once a day for 5 minutes
Germination date - 20 Feb 2015

Apart from that I'm planning on setting up another cab and sticking one plant in there as a mother and running the rest under a ScrOG and so I've topped 4 of them (Had 5 total) leaving just one that will with any luck be able to be cloned for next run. Any advice with anything to do with the grow btw would be appreciated so feel free to post away and criticise or whatever I just want to get good at growing, since I'm just growing for me and my roommate and I probably will be on holiday for a while after first harvest im really not too fussed what happens so long as I learn a decent amount. Here are some photos of the plants at the moment

Hey so its been a little while I've just kinda been busy and not really had the time to take photos and post but anyway this is where they are now, they're a little over a month old now (5 weeks since germination) and still 3 of them are out doing the other 2 by a decent amount. I've topped 4 of them twice now and left one that i designated the mother plant so that I can start putting the others under a screen for the ScrOG and so far 2 have really responded to the topping and 1 is filling out like mad. Apart from that not much has really happened they've just kinda been growing solidly for a little while now except for one that only just started growing again really after taking a week and a bit off just kinda chilling as a midget. One weird thing I've been noticing though is that the leaves on the plants that I've topped and the one I left are different, for some reason the topped ones have all got fatter leaves and instead of having like 7 fingers like the one I didn't top they have 3 and one tiny one sticking out the left side on like every leaf that formed after I topped them... not a clue whats going on there but I'm interested to see what happens. Theres also a few little spots on the biggest topped plant that I don't really know what to do about so if anyone knows whats up or has an idea of how to fix it let me know cos its driving me nuts!

So today when I went to check on them the weird wrinkly one had actually gotten a fair bit bigger and the leaves are all coming out normal now like not all wrinkly and the correct number of fingers rather than just 3. I was thinking about putting 3 of them under a scrog like either tomorrow or the day after depending on when i get the pump to set up the second drip feeder...

Damn, I always thought Acapulco gold was sativa, looks very indica to me. Looking nice mate :)
yeah man I've been thinking that too... the one i didn't top still has sativa traits like its a lot less dense and the leaves are generally just longer and thinner but even that isn't branching out too much

Lol, glad it's not just me!

You never know, the sativa could come through later on. I'd keep the crinkly leaf pheno too, they seem to turn out fire for some reason :)

So I pretty much finished making the screen and fitting the second cupboard with mylar, hopefully I'll be able to move the plants later today, by the way if anyone has any scrog experience Id be interested in knowing how much height to let the plants get so that I can comfortably train the branches under the screen because at the moment my plants are pretty much all short and bushy and theres like no way I could fit my hands in there to train it... I'm kinda wondering about whether or not to raise the lights up higher than they are to try and stretch them so that I'll be able to train the plants properly later, is that a decent idea or is that just like plain retarded?

So I came home today to find that the plants had grown significantly again but now the one I haven't topped which I'm hoping will live long enough for me to clone it is looking a little strange, it has some dark spots on it and the leaves and turned down at the tips and kinda taco shelling up at the top. Im not really that bothered by it but yeah

It's been a little while since I posted and I've just flipped 3 of the plants and put them under a scrog so I thought id update this page, also one of the plants has pretty much just done nothing in the last couple of weeks so I'm just leaving her in veg with the mother and I'm going to see how she goes and then figure out what to do later. Also just for the record I wanted to put the plants into veg about 1-2 weeks ago but I was away and there were heat problems with the hps that I've only just managed to sort out so thats why they're only just going into the flowering room...

Ill take some more pics tomorrow to show how the plants are dealing with the scrog as that photo was about 15 minutes after I put them under so they still haven't grown into it at all

So heres what they look like now, hopefully soon I can take some clones from the mother and begin vegging them but the 3 in the flowering cupboard seem to be doing alright. By the way does anyone who has experience with canna a+b have a way of stopping their rez from getting that white crap at the bottom? It didn't appear before but now I can't get rid of the stuff and it pops up everytime despite me cleaning out the rez, air stone and pump out and mixing the crap out of it while adding the a+b

So its been almost 2 weeks since my last post and I can finally see the bud sites starting to form! Here are some photos of the ones in flower but yeah I've just been training them under the screen for the past couple weeks and I'm now getting super excited for whats to come in the next month! I've also learned that they really should be put under a screen during veg for a ScrOG to go as I imagined but I'm just going to continue training them and see how it goes.

So its been pretty much a month since last time I posted I just got caught up with things but yeah they're looking pretty good in the flowering tent now the canopy is pretty full and I learned I definitely need to get the string more taught next time. Anyway they're starting to get pretty frosty and I'm glad because its already been 44 days flowering and probably over 100 days or so since i germ'd the seeds so saying I'm excited to see what it yields is an understatement. I can't wait to harvest my first ever homegrown buds. But it'll probably be another month or so before its done which is pretty long so I've just germ'd some northern lights for my next run which will hopefully be ready to go to flower by the time I harvest give or take a week or two and as soon as I harvest I'm going to chuck in my other acapulco gold which has just been vegging up to this point along side the mother so at least I won't have to waste any time. Anyway here are some photos of the flowering tent.

Ok so I think the swell has officially begun, I'm looking at the photos of what the bud was like on saturday (4 days ago now) and although day to day I had difficulty telling the difference i think its a lot easier to see in the photos that the buds have just gotten fatter. I've been trimming away quite a bit at the fan leaves and stuff to make sure all the bud sites get light as the ones in direct light seem to be growing the fastest. I'm also just going to go ad re-fill my reservoir and I'm going to really try pushing the ppm to see how much I can get out of this so ill be on the lookout for nute burn.

I'm also going to start another journal for the clones/seedlings I have going at the moment in a bit because I want it to be clear and if I'm talking about seedlings in one and flowering at the same time shits just going to get confusing especially because half the seedlings journals will be here.

Anyway here are some photos of the tents as they are at the moment

Not much has happened since yesterday but I thought I'd upload a couple more photos, its been 50 days of flowering now so it should only be another month till harvest id guess latest would be around july 15 just slightly over a month away, can't wait to see how I've done:bigjoint:

Yeah the flowering time for acapulco gold is up to like 80 days or so I've read and I flipped mine to 12/12 on april 23rd so I've still got at least 3-4 weeks or so to go. Your sensi star grow looks sick when are you going to chop that? Also how did you find using smart pots because thats something I've been looking into but I feel like water will just leak out the sides and leave me with a mess, does that happen or does the water generally not seep through the sides of it?
