Well it looks like they didn't really grow upward much last on cycle. Nothing at all really. Compared to the last bunch of days they would gain 1". Need to water, though. Tonight I will. Also in my last feeding I just used a bloom booster actually 2, PH'ed to 6.3, and no other grow nutrients. Any recommendations for this feeding? ALso I've heard of something called Bushmaster for stopping vertical growth? Regards.

EDIT: I take that back they are still growing steadily. The night above they were just low on water and didn't grow much.

ha i was actually hoping you may be able to help me with that im not too familiar with whats the best some guy told me on here something with 0-5-2 was best but from what ive read it kinda is almost what you prefer ha i read on a different forum that it does work but some guy said he was having problems because his fan leaves got pretty big and he didnt believe in defoliation but other people said it works but you wanna use it befor you get actual buds on your plants.. i personally was just gonna add a little bone meal to mine for now until i find something worth ordering off the internet ha so if you use that bloom booster you should tell me if it helps or not lol<br><br>

Thanks for the replies cflking.

I decided not to do the Bushmaster or any other potentially harmful chemicals. I'm having extreme height issues, though. 46" after last day. Top most cola is 7" from the glass.

I'm going to get some heavy bolts from works today and weigh the tops down, but that seems like a temp fix.

I have a question, If I just cut the tops off, I know obviously I'll reduce my yield. Will my plants HERM? if I cut the topmost branches at like 1/2, and even out the canopy with the lower branches? If I was going to do that would it be best to do it now? Obviously I think sooner the better, just wanted to ask about the possibility of herm. I never wanted them to even be this large but I was delayed getting them to flower and now they're just exploding upward like sativas do. The "lower" canopy is a perfect size about 36" giving it another 12-16" upward....

https://www.rollitup.org/nutrients/570037-so-you-noobs-hooked-cannabis.html might wanna take a look at this befor you go and waste money: just thought i would share kinda changed my opinions on things

right now I'm just using GO line because I'm new and don't want to screw up the nuts. when I get more experience I'll start trying more natural replacements. I have very little experience with nuts but you should ask in a new post these guys on here have great advice. GL

yea personally i dont think it would herm from what ive read but you might wanna ask someone with a little more experience lol you might wanna look into defoliation if you top your plants though youll notice them get a lot bushier. as for nutes ive just always heard the more natural the better but then again i found some guy that swore by miracle grow so i think youll just have to wait for next grow to see what you like really

UPDATE:

Well I didn't top them, or tie them "down" last night, as in bending the branches.

More like tied them in place; I just ran strings from the pots to the tallest branches and snugged the string. My thought with that is the tops will have to stay at that height. Now sure what will happen now that they are grounded. I made slip knots in the string so I can pull them down more, little by little, if needed.

ALSO getting some flower growth. AFAIK the plants are doing great.

I'm new to this site, but been around growing my entire life. Regarding the Miracle Gro comment, I do not suggest for flowering.

looking very nice ddue and just pull them down a little after watering makes it a little less stressful but its not really a big deal you can damn near pull that thing into a rainbow and in a few hours it will be pointed up to the light again.. kinda annoying i had to move my tie like 3 times in one day because of it.its not big deal youll know its limitations pretty easily just by feel... i was pretty scared about doing it the first time too but was suprised by it... and no i dont use mg too much n for flowering i have another off brand of mg but its 10 30 15 its just called plant food ha

UPDATE:

Day 28 of flowering:

The girls are looking great, buds are developing, white hairs sticking out everywhere and the leaves are starting to ice up.

Stabilized the cabinet conditions finally, so for the last couple weeks I've been able to relax; not have to put hours and hours every night into the setup. The late nights were getting tedious. I'm not done but I feel good about it and with the freezing outside air I won;t have to worry about high humidity for a while.

FLOWERING 73-75f (40-45%RH) lights off, and 75-80f (30-35%RH) lights on, 12/12 lighting. 400wHPS stuffed in there. Single stage cooling. (passive intake>------>carbon filter, fan, cooltube, out)

Height is becoming an issue, or WAS. I made tie downs for the largest branches and tied them to the best location on either pot. No removing the plants anymore they are kind of tied together. The strings have a slip knot on them so I can (and do) adjust as necessary. My canopy is about 8" from the fixture's glass right now. I plant to keep it right there and tie down any offenders. Stretching is under control but they do still grow and I have to re-adjust the tallest branches every few days. A mini oscillating fan keeps the canopy agitated and I just added another fan to the bottom to stir up air down below.

IShould have trimmed away some of the lower stuff early on but now I'm just going to keep it on there to not stress the plants. I remove a couple fan leaves every once in a while if they're blocking light. The fan leaves are fat and huge so this doesn't bother me. Where I can I just move them out of the way.

Yesterday I got a little freaked (still am a bit) because the buds are kind of reeking like nutrients (which do not smell good). I'm using GO box. It's like a mix of fresh weed plant, and rotten nutrients. Long story but hopefully that will subside, maybe it's normal I'm really not sure. I fed the shit out of them a couple days ago (120% recommendation), with one day old nutrient mix, so probably that's the cause. GO's fine print does say use within 1 hour or aerate until use (uhhh, oops). I'm going to water only (+CaMg) feed them twice in a row to see what's the deal with that. They look great still, just a little nasty smelling.

The VEG cabinet is doing well too. I cloned the shit out of the two that are flowering, and ended up with way too many. So I gave some away and killed the rest. For the next crop I'll have all kushes from clone, 1 Cherry Pie, 1 Blackwater and 1 OG, all clones. They are all from bagseeds, though, so probably hybrids. Still good strains. I've seen these CPK and BW grown out, and the OG stinks really good for such a young plant. I had them in small like 10oz black cups, with LW soil. I just moved them to 16oz cups and happy frog. They will stay in those for a few weeks then I'll probably do 1litre square pots, then finally 3gallon fabric bags like my big girls are in now.

I'll get some pictures tonight. it's lights off in there now.

UPDATE:

Just going into week 6, things are going great. At the advice of my grower friend I took 2 clones from each flowering plant. I currently only have of them cloned and I'm not sure which it came from. He said if one is better, I'll want it, blah blah blah.

Also, I killed the tiny little mid/low-grade flowering plant. :( Honestly I was tired of taking care of it, it didn't smell good, and wasn't flowering very well. Fuck it I'll just give my buddy some of this cherry pie when it's done. I was constantly worried it was going to herm., So I feel better now that it's just the two big girls in the flowering cab.

As far as the cabinets operation, they are going great. I find myself not having to check on them much at all. It's still more work than I initially though it would be, though.

Got my electricity bill also and was like WHAAAAAA??? It added probably $50. All good though, now that the initial investment is made I think that's affordable for a couple ounces every 2 months...
