Hey this is my first ever legit grow i have one afghan kush ryder that just sprouted today 5/2/12
growing in a 13"x16"x26" cab under (2) 23w 6500k cfls for now i have 2 more that i plan on putting in once my seedling grows a bit more
and i also have (6) 23w 2700 cfls that i, gowing to use once it flowers should i mix up the spectrum for auto flowers?
Im running the lights at 20/4 i also need some help with ventilation i have a small 80mm pc fan as an exhaust on the top and no intake just a 7" fan blowing in the cab with the doors open
im thinking of putting the 80mm fan as in intake in the bottom and get a 120mm pc fan for exhast would that help? my temps running around 82 since its hot as fuck were i live right now
im using some organic soil i got from the local grow shop, the soil ph is 6.0 right now that i have a cheap pool ph tester and planning on getting a digital ph tester soon and some ph down.
if anyone has any advice on the lights and watering or anything please let me know.... all comments will be helpful and highly appreciated:leaf::leaf::leaf:

those two bulbs are fine for the seedling. i started two seedlings under two bulbs like yours for about a week or so. once they start to look like they're picking up growth, add more bulbs. it looks like you could even do the identical setup for your lights on the opposite 'wall' and have twice the light.

i'd still mix spectrum for autoflowers. keep it biased towards 6500K from seed until you see some significant bud growth..at which point you'll want to bias towards the 2700K spectrum. imo, what i would do (i didn't do it this time, but next time i'm going to and see how it goes) is when i see the first pistils (i'm going to use 4 bulbs as an example, with three 6500k and one 2700k for veg) is switch out one of the 6500k's for a 2700k (2 of each spectrum) then a week or two later, switch out one more 6500k with another 2700k. then you end up with three 2700k and one 6500k for flower and it's not a very harsh transition for the plants. i didn't do this, and i really didn't see much of shock or anything..but i dunno, it makes more sense to do it that way than just switching it one day.

for your fans, i would just wire up another fan for exhaust. put your exhaust fans high up and your intake hole low, and on opposite sides of the box from each other. the fans blowing air out will suck enough fresh air in and if you're filtering it, it'll keep negative pressure in the box and all the smells going through the filter.

my digital pH tester is shit. i got one off of amazon, it was like $15..and it sucks. maybe just needs calibrated again, but i don't know. i also got a general hydroponics pH test kit (with pH up and down) from amazon and it's one of the drop kits. it's not as precise, but i know it's accurate. i since stopped using the digital one. but i think your soil pH is okay. just keep an eye on your water pH and the runoff pH..make sure it doesn't swing one way or the other.

how often are you watering now? i know it's an auto and you're not supposed to transplant them, but it seems like watering a seedling in a pot that big is tricky. i'd just try to make sure the soil has enough time to dry out between waterings. with the warmer temps in your box it seems like that will help with that.

looks good though. gonna keep an eye on this. i'm gonna do an auto for my next growbongsmilie (sorry for the long post...:eyesmoke:)

thanks for the feedback im planing on doing the same light set up on the other side and getting dose 2 more pc fans, but how do you filter through 2 exhaust fans?
i have a ph meter like yours that you put drops in and you check the strips i got a wal mart
right now im just watering with a small cup ever 2-3 days and misting if its dry and have to be gone

Update
Day 1

Day 3
I think my plant got a little heat stress when her light cycle turned on i had the door closed so no light can get in but i was asleep and woke up like 10 mins later and the heat was 90
you can see one of the bottom leaf has curled in and on the set of leafes you can see the side has changed colors

there's a diy on here somewhere about using pencil cups from walmart to build a diy activated carbon filter. i basically took that concept and tweaked it. i used the big pencil cups, which fit over an 80mm exhaust fan perfectly, and some solo cups and did the same thing. except i used some activated carbon pre-filter sheets. it doesn't filter all the smell, but works well enough. and it keeps light from leaking too. i have two 80mm exhaust fans, so i have two cups. i just duct taped them to the box and they're doin fine. you could build a box over the exhaust fan and filter it that way too..either way, make sure you give yourself some room between the filter and the fan. it doesn't take much to really kill the airflow of a pc fan. if you can get some distance away from the fan, the air will still make its way through the filter, but the fan won't be so restricted/loud as well. and these solutions only work if stealth isn't 100% necessary..otherwise people will be all, 'wtf are those things on the back of your computer' but you can put the filters inside the box if you got the room and if stealth is of utmost importance

rip out those blue led's...they'll f with your plant in flower. unless you have that fan turn off with the lights. for the heat, it looks like the cab is already painted white, so you could rip down what appears to be windshield reflector. that stuff traps heat like a mofo. if you really wanted to, throw down a couple fresh coats of flat white spray paint, and it'll be plenty reflective. and i think you said you did, but you have a fan inside the box moving air around too?

your seedling looks good otherwise! doesn't look like the heat is really causing any major problems for it

i have all the fans turning off aswell with the lights should i leave them on exept for the led one?
i ripped out all the mylar shit and im going to give my box a paint job tommarow after school. i have a 7" fan that blows into the box with the door open to keep it cool which i hate usong since its a bitch always having to close the door once its nap time.
you think my fans are placed right?

i'd leave at least one on...just to keep the air moving and fresh air coming in. is the exhaust up top and the intake down low? i'd maybe put that intake fan up top as another exhaust fan and have a filter or something over the hole where it used to be. if you can cram the 7" fan in there with the door closed, i'd do that. that way the air is going to be forced to go in from the bottom and out the exhaust at the top, sucking the heat out with it. and the fan inside will help circulate the air inside (and help build a stronger stem). since your cab is so big, with the door open, those exhaust fans up top are probably just moving air around, instead of actually pulling the heat out.

okay tomarrow im going to put the small pc fan up with other exhaust fans, and cut a 7" hole in the back to place the fan in, and paint it white. hope thats enough vent or should i make the big fan as exhaust????

i mean, you could use that big guy for the exhaust..if you can rig it up high somehow. and you're sure it won't fall on your plant. and then use the pc fans for moving air inside the box...i dunno. try the extra pc fan up top, and keeping the door closed. see what your temps are, and then adjust from there. it took me about a month of trying different fans/combinations to get the temps at a reasonable level in my box

ahh damn, that sucks. find a better way to rig up your lights and you could at least use it as a seedling/clone box or something. you could mount some magnetic strips where your nails are now and glue/duct tape magnets to the back of the power strips to hold them up better. or you could get the power strips with the holes for screws on the back and have a bunch of screws up the sides like you have with the nails and then just use some duct tape or something else to keep them from sliding out of the 'locked' position..if that makes any sense....haha
