Hey! For the last month or so I've been gathering materials for my first grow. I've done a lot of research And i plan to grow 2 feminized northern lights autoflowers (from nirvana). Ive chosen autoflowers because of there quick grow time (being that I'm impatient) and there tendency to stay a smaller size. I'm growing in a 25inch long , 16 inch wide , 4ft tall grow box built out of a dresser. It's not done , I'm still waiting for my fans to get here from Amazon so I can install an exhaust fan and ive yet to get my soil and pots. As I said I plan to grow 2 plants on a 20/4 light cycle , 4 23w 6500k cfls directly over each plant with 4 additional 2700k (2 in a double dome fixture up top and 2 for side lighting) during veg , then switching all the 6500k bulbs to equivalent 2700k bulbs during flower. In total 14 23w cfls = 322 actual watts. I plan on buying fox farm ocean forest soil and using only fox farm big bloom during the flowering period. Also was going to try lst on both the plants to try to increase my yield as much as possible. I hope to have all my supplys within the next 2 weeks and start the grow and my journal around mid August. this is my first grow and I'm doing as much research as possible , any comments , questions or suggestions are welcomed :)

Due to funding issues It's going to be almost another month before I can order my autoflower seeds, so I decided to germ some bag seeds and get them started in the meantime. These seeds came from brick/reggie weed. Not planning on finishing this grow , just something to play with till I can order my seeds , But who knows! anyways I put all 15 seeds in a small container with tap water , gonna let em sit over night and i will transfer them into damp paper towel tomorrow. Also going tomorrow afternoon to get my soil (fox farm ocean forest) and some solo cups to use as pots. will update soon.

Why not grow out the bag seeds. Some of the best fire around came from a bag seed. You never know. It's all in how you grow.

I was just going to play with the bag seeds in the meantime while i was saving up for my autoflower grow, I was considering a solo cup grow tho. Just gonna play it day by day.

Your setup is a lot like mine. I am also new with just three grows under my belt. I started in a mini fridge but have upgraded to a dresser grow. I also used fox farm ocean forest and nirvanas northern lights auto flower. The strain is great and nirvana kicks ass.

Some lessons I learned from the last grows. After your seeds pop put them in solo cups with holes in the bottom of course. Once the leaves outgrow the sides transplant. Most people like to do three transplants and use no nutrients with FFOF. I am using the SCROG method and will only be able to transplant once. My last grow I have too many nutes and had nutrient lockout but still a decent product in the end. This time I will barely use any nutes. I may try a little molasses and worm castings instead. Since our grows are similar let me know if you have any questions and good luck!!

I thought your weren't supposed to transplant autos because the it shocks the plant too much and can affect yield , maybe I'm wrong ?

I haven't heard that personally. I transplanted once with mine and had no problems. My next grow isn't auto and I plan to transplant. Maybe someone with more knowledge on the subject can let us know

Topping, cloning and transplanting arent really advisable with autos because u only have a set amount of time and it sets growth back. One thing u could do tho is LST them starting when they grow out their first two fan leaves and train it into a coil on the bottom letting all ur branches fight for dominance and get max light. I just started some (Growers Choice) Critical Purp autos myself

I didn't know this about autos and still transplanted once and topped one plant twice. Got 3 jars out of it (no scales). Next time I'll try not topping and see what yield is like.

Looks like u might be a bit nitrogen deficient after the flush combined with a bit of overwatering, not a big deal just try to ratchet up the nute intake by like .3 mls and see if it makes a difference
