First ever wardrobe grow.

I love the time dedicated to searching for the best strains out there. I am and always will be a sativa guy so I try to get the best pure/sativa dominant strains that boost creativity and relaxation.

So after around 20mins of research I have come up with two runner ups.

#1 Goddess Kali: fast flowering (around 40-60 days), produces high yields and stays at medium height (not an issue since I'll be mainlining). The buds have a strong smell and taste of incense (which I love), overall sounds very promising.

#2 Kush-N-Cheese: what intrigued me was the smell & taste: a blend of cheese with lemon and diesel.. wow, sounds amazing. Nice and compact tops and overall big yields with a typical sativa high.

Hmm... both flower "fast" and they have amazing characteristics.. so this is going to be a tough one. I'm more for the Goddess, I don't know why.

Mylar is only available on online shops dedicated to growing "plants", but everyone knows they sell specialized items for growing cannabis. So by purchasing items online I have to pay for the shipping as well, so everything comes down to being more expensive than it actually should be.

Ah, didn't know where you were located but I know what you mean about having to buy online. I'm in a very small town that doesn't have any major stores. Any time I want to go to one of the major stores like Walmart, Home Depot, Petco, etc, it means a 70 mile (round trip) drive for me. But as far as the balloons go, do you not have any florist or other stores that sell balloons?

No, no hydro for me at this moment. Heard it's actually a much better way of growing and it looks stunning. Although I have to admit the whole apparatus looks completely alien to me. BUT I will definitely try some hydro one day. Maybe when I finish this grow.

Omg I'm looking at home built hydro systems... and I think it would be harder to bang my head against a wall as opposed to building a system like that... hmm... ideas, ideas, ideas...

Hmm.. I've been thinking. What if suddenly those cheeky monkeys switch of the electricity due to "maintanence" for a couple of hours? Will that not instantly kill the plants due to the lack of bubbles being produced from the air pump? Sounds really scary.

Ok, so in all the hype I went out and got myself an air pump, some hoses and two of those air stones, or whatever they are called. I submerged them into some water and they are bubbling nicely... although when I place my hand above the bubbles it doesn't get wet. Could the pump be too weak?

Is there any way to add an mp4 file? That way you could properly see how the bubbles are... bubbling.

Yea, that is way too wimpy of a pump.
This is the one I am currently using in my AeroGarden to bubble a gallon.
ActiveAqua dual hose, adjustable.
Splashes like a mofo

And this is the one I use to aerate a 6 gallon tub.

I may even have to upgrade that to a bigger 4 port model.

I have gleaned from a LOT of research that if you think that you have just about the right amount of bubbles..... go ahead and double that !

Damn, nice pumps you have there. Could you please tell me how many W and litre/hour your ActiveAqua dual hose has? That way I will be able to buy something similar.

And I'll be taking my one back to the shop.

I like flood drain hydro myself, if I go hydro that's what I'll use, similar to dwc, soil has just been so stupid easy, lol, I default to easy, but the hydro will pay off for the extra effort

Hey hey, I'm so sorry for not writing earlier, but I'm going to university soon and it's been really hektik the past few weeks.

I am in fact still building, and after six days of waiting, the parts FINALLY came yesterday... although I'm in a bit of a pickle now...

I assumed that the fan and light would come with the necessary cables, but alas, I was wrong.

Once I opened the boxes I panicked, because I thought that was it for me, money wasted... but then I got a hold of myself and acknowledged that I'll have to put everything together myself.

So today I went out and got the necessary cables for setting the whole grow up. Now I have told you guys before that I'm not a tinkerer, so I really hope I'm doing everything correctly. Thanks to the internet I now know how to get the fans and ballast running.

As for now I have the fan working, although I though 160cfm would work a lot faster... maybe it has something to do with the connection? If anyone who is skilled in the arts of anything to do with electricity could just check if what I did won't burn the house down, I'd be very happy.

When I connected the fan to the outlet and it started to spin, I was like Anakin Skywalker: It's working, it's working!

I've been thinking a lot on whether or not I should try my hand at hydroponics, and unfortunately I have come to the conclusion that it would just cost too much at the moment. The ph tester, TDS, air pump, bucket etc. etc. would completely exceeded my budget. I already spent a lot on the lights, fan, cables, pertol etc. so I wasn't able to afford the extras for the hydroponic set up. So unfortunatly with a heavy heart, I had to back up with the DWC grow... for now... mwahaha. Sooooo I'm back to soil. I'm dissapointed, because I was really into (and still am) hydroponics. The good news is that in a month or so I'll be able to get the items I need, and since my HPS bulb is for grow + bloom, I'll be able to stick my hydro setup in there with my older plant!

I've even heard that it is possible to tranplant a soil grow plant into a hydro setup like DWC, although the probability that the shock will be too severe for the plant is really high. There have been a lot of cases where the plant would just die. I'll have to think about it, although like I said, I definitely will stick a DWC setup in the cabinet.

Anyway, I'll be happy to announce that the cuboard is up and running, but I'm just pondering where I should install the fan and ballast.. pictures will be up soon.
