First Dwc bag seed grow

It is a formulation of various sugars, Amino acids and vitamins to boost flower production and taste by mainly feeding the microherd of beneficial bacteria but I wouldn't use it in most hydro setups tho some do. I don't promote bacterial growth with DWC so don't really need it tho I might get a little bottle to try with my soilless.

Bud Candy

I do however want to get some Bud Ignitor to get flowering off to a good start and when I go down to the capitol next week will pick up a small bottle to try side-by-side with the four girls I'm about to flower. Big Bud only for a couple and that with the Ignitor for the other two.

Good stuff man!
Keep me updated on the side by sides!
I saw great reviews on bud candy and pretty much any Advance Nutes product has great reviews.
ive noticed there are people who bash people for using Advance, ive concluded they have no real reasons to bash they only dislike the products because they work and a lot of people use them.

I got a few bones to pick with AN myself.

A lot of the supplements are way overpriced and many of the ingredients in them are in other ones so you can end up screwing things up by overdosing your plants on one thing or another. Their nutrient calculators are dead stupid. They recommend using 4mls/L of the base nutes from tiny seedling all the way up to rapidly growing plants. I don't ever use that much and have run into nute burn with some strains. For nOObs it's a nightmare. No real info about feeding in soil or soilless either so if you can't read your plants worth a crap you're either giving too much or too little. And weekly nute changes for tiny plants! WTF! They don't eat anything so like with my DWC I go the first month at least before even thinking about a complete change. More you use the more you buy so that's the plan.

Their roaming sales guys seem to be a-holes. The closest shop to me is two hours away and they stopped stocking AN because they weren't buying enough from them so they couldn't get any discount and they had to charge too much or take a loss so they said fuggit. Also told they had to pay up front after never being late for over a decade. So now I have to either go to the capitol 6 hours south or order and I hate ordering. Walk in and pay cash so there's no paper trail to me. Andre at the All Seasons Garden Center in Edmonton is really good about stealth shipping so I may call him tomorrow and order that Bud Candy, some Rhino Skin and a couple of other small items to fire up to me ASAP. My buddy's are going down there next week so I'll also order the reflectors I want and some other bulky things so they can pick them up for me.

Their base nutes have always been just a bit more than say GH. When the closest store had AN a 1L bottle of GH Grow was $18 and the same for AN was $21 so not much more for a much better product. They try to suck you in to all the supplements so you can be a "Master Grower" lol Buy all their supplements and be a "Master Sucker"

When AN first started in Abbotsford, BC I lived just a few miles down the road and met Big Mike a few times. Shot a couple of games of 8-ball with him one night but barely knew who he was. Really friendly guy that liked to buy a round so OK in my books. I also like that their nutes are made in Canada and the US now and they are very fussy about where they source their base materials for making their products. And actually test their products on pot plants rather than fruits and vegetables like GH and most others do.

I started with AN nutes in '01 before pH Perfect and had great grows from almost the start and since using the newer stuff will keep using it until they stop making it and I can't see that happening before this old fart closes his eyes for the last time. :)

How big a space and how warm does it get trich0me$ ?

Those duct fans don't move much air for their size compared to even a el-cheapo inline fan of the same size. Make a bit of noise too and won't run properly with a ceiling fan speed controller like the brushless motors on the better fans. Will do a smaller space fine if not too warm.

They basically are just booster fans to move air in long furnace ducts to help get warm air to a chilly room. I got a 6" here I've never used.

Here it is with my el-cheapo inline and my DIY spead controller. At half speed the black one moves way more air and is quieter than the duct fan.

I realize money is tight as it has been for me for years and that's why I DIY as much as possible. Hope a duct fan will do the job for ya.

Get a repair kit for the air pump if they have it. A new one that's been sitting on the shelf for a long time can fail quicker than it should as the rubber cups inside may be getting brittle. Just a few bux but handy to have on hand.

If it's all for hydro I don't know that you need both Tarantula and Hydroguard or either for that matter. I've never used bennies in DWC.

If you can only get one of the last 3 I'd get the Big Bud for sure. Piranha is more bennies and roots grow super fast in hydro just using 3-part base nutes. It's something else I've never used or seen a need for.

Those things may work fine for you so I'm not saying they are of no use. I want a bug free tub of nutes and as long as they don't get too warm I've never had a problem. The only time I've had root rot is when I used clones that were started in real dirt and that was before I started chilling my nutes and temps were around 75F in the tub. Pretty sure the infection started from that soil. Heavy doses of peroxide saved the day and only two plants were really impacted in a tub with over a dozen plants in it. Went on to reveg that tub twice so got lots of pot out of that one tub. :)

Nice to get a bit of a windfall you can blow on something that will pay you back ten-fold eh.

Oh yeah. About the Revive.

I've never used that either but it's going on my shopping list to order with the Bud Ignitor etc tomorrow. Worth a try if I can get a small, 250ml, bottle for insurance. Bought a little bottle of Neem Oil about 10 years ago and didn't have to use it until just last year. Was nice to have handy and really saved the day.

Grow space if i had to guess is 3.5 feet wide 6-7 foot tall and 2 foot length, ill measure asap, but its really not a big area, temps arent getting past 80-81F really, averaging 77-78, i think it will be good enough to bring temps down 2-4 degrees.

My pump is fine although its a cheapy basic one outlet 10gal pump, im upgrading so i can have dual outlet and add my other 5gal bucket :)

I was uncertain if i needed both hydroguard/tarantula , i definitely do want one or the other, heard good things from hydro guard!
ill add big bud to my for sure list! and i thought revive would be a great insurance investment for a noob like me :fire:
i think i wanna add a root igniter too! :bigjoint:

Those were grown using the older 3-part AN nutes before pH Perfect with silica, epsom salts and Big Bud in flower. I used 35% food grade peroxide at a rate of 0.5mls/L, 2mls/USG twice a week as a maintenance dose.

Lights were 2 - 400W HPS and I can't recall both but one was an EYE Hortilux. RO water of course.

Going good mostly.
A few issues I'm concerned with.
There's spots on the bigger plant on old growth leaf is curling up a little.
I'm suspecting too much heat??
I'll investigate more.
Temps at 76F
Water is 70
A little algae build up I think in the res.
Will change Asap.

Nice job!
Harvest weight?
I don't recall the total wt from both tubs loaded with 16 plants each but got a couple of pics from the harvest.

1 gal jar in the middle full of sugar and popcorn buds.

Harvest_Mar0310o1.jpg

This was the biggest plant of the lot. She wasn't in those jars so add a couple qts. :)

Your temps sound great. A little peroxide can take care of the algae so you don't have to change so often maybe. I wouldn't fret about a couple spots on a leaf here and there. Top growth looks healthy enough and a week can make a lot of difference.

Hard to tell with the pretty light but the foliage looks really dark green which could indicate high N or even low Ca if the stems seem weak and growth is slowed along with really dark leaves.

Can you get a pic under natural light or after the grow lights are off with a flash?

My new Nikon 20.1mp Coolpix has manual white balance so I can get pics under HPS that look like they are under the sun almost. I had the earlier 10mp version of that camera but it up and died a year ago.
