First Colorado outdoor grow questions

Why work as a caretaker to learn to grow? Just grow your own. Only reason to get a red card will be to escape taxes when purchasing from the dispo. I may not even renew mine and just smoke my own crop tax free ;)
Yes, thats the plan...But I would like to get some experience and/or tips from a old time grower so I can learn the ropes. I did research and I am interested in growing with LEDs. I know it sounds crazy but there are some nice LEDs out there now...Their spectrum is closest to matching the sun.

CMH is closer to the suns spectrum than LED, and there is some new CMH options coming out. Was talking to DNA lighting about a 900 watt system that with hood ran like $900-$1000, probably in my future!!!
Trimmers make $10 an hour or less here.

I remeber the last time I was in Colorado at Illuzion Glass...I tried asking a customer if he knew where I could get bud. He started getting nervous and he said "No, no I'm from the mountains, I live in the mountains" lol. Don't really know what significance that has. I asked a few more people and nobody would help me out so I ended up getting it from some homeless guy in Boulder who ripped me off giving me a quarter claiming it was a half ounce...

What does CMH stand for? Look up this LED system called the Magnum+. What do you think? I could care less about the cost of the lighting equipment. I just want to grow the purest natural highest quality buds.

Lol does that $10/hr require filling out a 1099? How much is rent out in Boulder on average? A semi decent place that isn't around any ghettos would be preferable. I remember walking through Boulder and there are homeless people sitting on the benches. There are no homeless people in my area and I would like to move somewhere where there aren't any as well

Haha agreed. I'm workin on it I will get there eventually. I heard some news that Obama is trying to take the guns away in Colorado :( Stand up for your rights and the constitution dont let that socialist take the guns!
:wall: You're talking to the wrong person with that. Best of luck to you.

Sorry if you feel differently but I feel that if they banned guns, there will be more illegal guns. The criminals will always find a way. If they can't get them legally, they will just acquire more illegal guns which ultimately leads to more crime. I don't really want to argue here but that is my honest opinion. I am a non violent believer in the US Constitution and our rights as American citizens.

Not sure if you have to fill out a 1099 for the trimming, but i would assume so, its certainly not under the table. Still a hard to find job at $10/hr.
You want to live in a place with no homeless people? Sounds sort of elitist to me, homeless aren't good enough to be around you?
Everywhere has homeless, just some places they are less visable.
Boulder = Expensive, i don't know how much, but it is a college town and boulder. CL is a great place to learn that.

I don't really have anything against homeless people per say. But sometimes they freak me out and they tend to take advantage of others. I know this from experience. I don't live around them, but Ive been to cities where I see them. Like mentioned in my earlier post, Ive been ripped off by some homeless people in Boulder. I don't mind homeless people around, but I don't like being around beggars or people that follow you around in a stalking type of behavior.

Very interesting concept with the CMH lights. Looks like it has big potential

Can you do me a favor and watch the documentary Agenda: Grinding America Down. If you need a copy I would gladly send you a DVD and I'll pay the shipping on it too. Some other good documentaries on youtube are "The Obama Deception", "Owned and Operated" or "Guns and Weed: The Road to Freedom".

As am I, my friend; sworn to uphold it, in fact. But as you said, let's not argue and fight among ourselves -- here, of all places. Rather, lets focus on ending prohibition and smoking a some pot! bongsmilie

(And thus ends my first and last foray into the political realm on Rollitup. Or, to harken back to my earlier post, "This is the end." :-P)

The Denver Boulder metro is like big cities elsewhere in that there are all things if you look for them. It is expensive, but not as bad as in CA around SF, LA or SD. There is no gold/green rush going on, there are not a lot of jobs in the weed business and no, it is not likely that you will be able to get into the dispensary business unless you have several hundred thousand to risk in a very risky business. Plan your life out without MJ first and then add MJ to what evolves if it fits. There is a very good culture in CO except for traffic. I find traffic more difficult than CA because of the lower skill level of the drivers and the large number of distracted drivers, typically with phones. The climate can be brutal, like the 20s today. Feel sorry for anyone foolish enough to be homeless because this is the kind of weather that kills people. Get an education, have a career, smoke weed if you can, fall in love, raise a family, help someone out, enjoy life, live and let live.:peace:

Did I mention that someone on this board, Trousers?, suggested that we should regulate MMJ like tomatoes. I think that this is by far the best idea for an amendment that I have ever heard. Typical Colorado thought process.:weed: Regarding growing outdoors, be prepared for brutal conditions, beastly pests, hail, wind, heat, fire, lightning, wildlife, neighbors... It is especially rewarding to grow anything in CO, especially in the mountains, because it is so fucking hard! I gave up and went inside, now I need to be concerned about power outages and a whole new list. It is kind of the same everywhere, it really comes down to where you want to be. Like the Grateful Dead sang a long time ago, "you pick a place to go..."

Great suggestions. Thanks for the info! Sounds like Colorado is more like a place to retire than a place to make a substantial income...Is organic food and natural medicine big over there?

We have lots of good food options and any sort of medical treatment you can imagine, just need to be able to pay for it. Bring enough money to get started and be prepared to work as hard as anywhere else to make a decent living. But the idea that there is a green boom going on is not true, today is just like a few years ago, before amendment 64 passed, just a little later in time and slightly less worrisome when you light up a joint. Yes, there are a bunch of dispensaries on Broadway and scattered around the state, but their owners are clinging to life, business is competitive and always too damned slow. How to compete with all the closet growers selling crap on CL? I dunno, it just seems that the whole country is under the impression that there is this great weed market in CO and WA, when in fact there is just the same number of buyers, not all that many, with a few new places to purchase their weed. Nice to see that there is more locally grown, quality smoke, instead of the imported and as far as I am concerned, tainted and unacceptable weed from south of the border. Boycott that shit, really, buy local or grow your own and for God's sake don't talk to me when I am drinking!:cuss::eyesmoke::grin::spew:;-):peace::mrgreen:

You and your buddies are the ones driving up the price of ammo due to paranoia. Stop it.
While I am not a fan of our government, what has been done in the last 5 years that would suggest Obama is going to take our guns and ammo?
No one is getting my gun and I am not the least bit worried about that.
The people that think Obama is an African Muslim are part of the reason I have guns.

I know a couple people that are really afraid of our black president, lol. A guy on my hockey team said, "If the shit goes down, you will get a text from me that says, 'Uncle Billy went camping.' If you see that text get your family to the mountains as quick as you can."

It doesn't matter who is president, they will screw us if they are black, white, Hillary or republican.
I do have to applaud the republicans for convincing poor people that the rich should not pay more taxes. Really good work on that boys, just brilliant propaganda, thanks!

Sorry for that, I am currently suffering from NBH.

I'll take care of that asap.

Right on bro. Makes sense that since everyone can grow their own there isn't much demand for the product.

He has turned back on nearly ALL of his promises. He enhanced the patriot act. It is now legal for the government to plant surveillance in your home without your permission. Obama also wrote into law, the ability to utilize drones against US Citizens. I could keep going... You can use google to easily confirm my statements.

Well yes, the whole Republican vs Democrat facade is just a fallacy. This left right para-dime is meant to deceive us into thinking that you actually have a choice. Problem is both the Republicans and Democrats are merely puppets for the powers that be.
