First Aeroponic grow... over complicating nutes?

Hey RIU! So I recently built a Aeroponic 5 gallon bucket setup.. but have read a lot of mixed info on PPM levels as well as nutrients to use.. I come from a Ebb&Flow system and I guess my main question is am I running too many nutes for Aero? and is there anything that I dont run that I might want to add for switch to a Aero system?

Base Nutes: Advance Nutrients Jungle Juice 3 part

Adds: GH Floralicious Plus , GH FloraBlend , H&G Root Excelurator , X Nutrient Silica , X Nutrient CalMag (have not used that yet...but bought a bottle because my hydro store had it on sale and have read a lot about adding it to RO water)

also add H&G Top Booster , H&G Bud XL , and Mad Farmer MOAB to the mix in Flower.

I searched a lot and it seems that Botanicare Line is very popular... and notice a lot of people just run that with CalMag and Liquid Kool Bloom... made me think I am giving my plants too many things.

Thanks in advance for all the advice.. only been on RIU for a short time but have found the community to be extremely helpful!

Sounds like it to me. I guess once you get it dialed in you'll be good but if you have problems you will have a lot of variables to consider. I just use dyna gro grow and bloom with some cal mag during flower. If I have issues at some point it makes it easy to get a handle on it.

Stick with base nutrients that are salt based in hydro. No additives. Unless using RO than supplement calcium and magnesium if your base nutrients don’t have enough.

Thats dumb. The only micronutrient being provided (if they use it in that brand) is iron from the CalMag.

I meant the Pure Blend from Botanicare with CalMag and KoolBloom.. not just the adds.. my fault on not being clear.

And without adding my additives will I loose speed of growth or weight? Probably a newbie question but I have not had that much experience with using different things.. basicly the dude at the grow store sold me on a three part base.. used that for a run and wanted to aim for a larger yeild... he pushed to me try Floralicious and FloraBlend saying they would help with taste as well as speed of growth..then I had a few minor plant problems.. he said Silica would help with cell strength and recommended.. feel like I've been HAD!

Going to start with just the base Jungle Juice on this run and go from there.. last question... should I run a small dose of H2o2 with my Aero my res is like a jacuzzi with my pump and 2 large but some people say "Yes it helps add Oxygen and fights negative bacterias, plus plants love it.." others say "No because it kills off micro nutes that the plant needs."

Thanks for your time and input!

A non organic balanced nutrient profile is going to get you where you need to be. You won't lose speed of growth or weight.

Taste is about genetics and curing.

H202...I'm not the most familiar with, the strong stuff above 30 percent is expensive and hard to source. If you want to run a sterile res it makes more sense to use chlorine. Both are oxidizing agents and will kill bacteria.

It won't kill micro nutes.

99% of the time your going to be "had" at a grow store.....just keep it simple.I use pureblend pro grow/bloom and cal mag thats it.....when I first started hydroponics I used to have a million different bottles.......the only difference that made was - on my savings account,If I had more time I would mix my own nutrients.

And the only time I use air pumps in my res for oxygen is if the roots are submerged in the solution 24/7 (dwc). If you keep your water temps optimal and res clean there is no need for h202.

Thanks for the input.. I have started to look into the Pure Blend 2 part from Botanicare and reading a lot of journals it looks like a popular choice..

I also have bottles of Aqua Flakes from House and Garden... got them @ the grow show but have not tried them out.. anyone have experience I would LOVE to hear..

Do you run the complete line? I am assuming your using Aqua Flakes for your base? VERY interested as I use Root Excel in my ebb&flow and noticed a huge difference vs when I used Rapid Start

Aquaflakes A and B are the base . the additives i use are Multizen, Bud XL, Drip Clean, Top Booster, Shooting Powder, and Magic Green as a foliar spray. I used to run Roots Excellerator and Amino Treatment, the Roots being my favorite product of all time, but both products where very thick and not working with my setup. I now use S.O.S as a supplement for Roots and love this product as well no change in results. The only difference with Amino is if u use it u will have super strong stems and not much else. I follow exactly how the steps on their site tell you and the results are flawless. if u dont mind the cost i highly highly recommend their line.

I was given the Aqua flake A&B , Shooting powder for one run , Top Booster and Bud XL .. will def be trying out the Aqua Flakes this run... might add what I already have and most likely will add Drip Clean to keep things flowing... Multizen and the flowering stuff I will hold off on until I get a crop at least out of my damn cloner... so many issues.

Thanks for all the input from everyone... in 5 posts I learned I have been spending extra $$ and complicating things.. probably why I have been having issues in my Aero system.

Multi zen is more important than most of the others u add that a good majority of the plants life. U r only using top booster one week , shooting powder, two or three weeks
If u r gonna run the line and leave out multi zen u will not have good results. It is added from the very first day till the 4 th week of flower then u start using bud xl. So u r not using that whole line every week. If u were only going to go with a few I would def do aqua flakes a and b , multi zen and bud xl , and roots
