Finalize CXM22 COB build 10sqft

I'm looking at 12x CXM22's for my 10sqft, 5 ft high medium sized space.

Is this a good balance of light for maximizing yield in my area?
How should i drive these?

You wouldn't have to drive 12 very hard for 10sq ft.

Any reason you are stuck on the number 12?

What are the dimensions of the floor area?
I kind of want high efficiency but I still want a lot of light, so I felt like 12 was a good balance between what's required and trying to be efficient with cost. But I could be wrong, I'm completely new to the world of COBs.

Floor area is 3.3x3.3, so maybe I do need 16 in order to get 4 in each quadrant.

In the same space I run 8 less efficient cobs at 400 watts and it's a ton of light. 12 more efficient cobs run hard would nuke plants in 10sq ft. With cobs it is easy to find the point of to much light and over take it.

12 in there is fine you def have to pull it away from them. i like mine high so it not in my face when i wanna defoliate. i use Angelina reflectors to focus the beam while it is still high.

2 hlg-120 48a's will get you about 30 watts a sq/ft.

2 hlg-185-48a's will get you about 43 watts a sq/ft.

You can run any number of cobs on these. 9cobs would also work in your situation, 5 on one and 4 on the other to cover the corners. Both drivers would be very efficient.

If you really wanted to run 16 cobs you should also take a look at citizen 1212s, they are cheaper and the difference in efficiency is not as pronounced at this low level of wattage per cob.

You ain't a kidding, I am playing continual catch up in my space. I currently am running 430 watts into 8 cxms in about 18 square feet, a situation that is in the process of being rectified, and the plants have not shown a want for light.

If you are running co2 does it allow the plant to exceed the amount of light a plant can receive? If it does then more light is no problem if running co2. but i bet there is still a restriction on the amount that the plant can receive with c02 also.

So if I were to go with 9 cobs how would I orient them?

In a grid, 3x3. The driver with 5 cobs covering the center, the driver with 4 cobs covering the corners.

And you are not overthinking, it's that people don't realize how efficient these are at low wattages.

So 9 of the CXM22s on those two drivers will work well for my goals, then? Do you recommend putting them in parallel?

These particular drivers must be wired in parallel.

The stronger driver is close to too much light without perfect conditions, but you could always turn it down.

The weaker driver will put out over 1/3 more light than what I am (currently) running and I am experiencing vigorous growth.
