Fimming and Topping 101

If I were to cut my plant in half, cutting off about 3 leaf sets, would it still grow back two tops? ....cause I did that with mine impulsively and the nub at the end hasn't shown any signs of growth and even looks a little bit burnt. Should I cut it again just below?
No its fine I did the samething mine just came out bushy but I need clones so thats fine with me.

has anyone noticed this info contradicts the topping info in 'uncle bens' topping method? where he says that you should not top at the 4th node and instead top at the 2nd??

This may come as a shock to you, but you can top the plant at any node. Hell you can even top the side branches for extra bushiness. Personally I take the node thing with a grain of salt and top when they look healthy & about a week before they go into flower.

I 'topped' one of my plants like 30 times. Don't ask me why, it was my first grow, but hey, they were little fucking bushes. However, I would have much prefered 3 or 4 big top colas instead of like 150 little mini colas... oh well. live and learn.

I fimmed one of my plants and before i could watch it grow back and see if i did it right, i went outside to check it and a bird or something severed it one inch from the dirt and i was too late it had already went into shock. "FUCK" that was my favorite plant. It had duck feet leaves and it grew three at a time.

I managed 7 tops from the (fim) process, however, I just pinch, no blades, (sloppy grab) leav a little nub behind and voila 7 BIG main branches instead of 1.\

I recently fimmed my plant and got after they split and grew about an inch or two past the first fimmed spot I fimmed the leaf buds on both those. Is that ok or will it make for small buds?

yea its OK .just probably will take a while for the ones to start growing out of the side again. but yea you can fim any fimmed part/ top any topped part

How many times should I fim my plant?

I was thinking of doing a scrog grow and was going to fim at regular intervals but should I just go easy on it?

Thanks for help.

So, my plants are about 2 1/2 wks and 4" tall and starting their 5th node. Are they ready for topping? They seem healthy. But I was thinking that it might be kind of early or that they are still to small.

Im a noob here and gotta say that from what I understand, fimming will let ya have more colas and topping will let ya have more branches. So when I veg. I top it and can have 4 branches that I could lst and then FIM the ends just before flowering to have more colas?
