Man I wish the FAQ section was as easy to follow as this. Very newb friendly and much appreciated. Everyone complains about not reading FAQ but its not very user friendly. What's up with one word search.

Is this to early to top a plant? It came from outside we found it one day while mowing . it was cut between the third and fourth leaf set and the first was trimmed off.

i would say its a little to early. wait till the plant has a couple leaf sets (probably 3 or 4). look at my grow journal page 6... thats when i topped mine and from what ive heard that is about the right time!

hope this helps!

u cant top a plant at the bottom? cuz i want mine as short as can be...
You could top it at the bottom but you just wasted all the vegging time u had. Best way to keep short plants is to top or fim them and then lst the new branches :)

is it ever too late to top a plant in veg stage? for example, my plant is 8 weeks in veg. im gonna wait another 4+ weeks in veg til i go ahead and flower. Can i top these plants right before i switch to flower to get the extra colas? Or is this method only for plants that want to stay short?

topping only makes 2 new growths instead of one and yes you can do it now. youll probably end up with 2 medium colas compared to one massive one but if you can veg for 8 weeks and plan on vegging another 4 more at least you must have the room to do whatever and this should help increase your yield

you can top them anytime you want, but i believe it's better if you top them at least a week, if not two, before you switch to flower, to give them time to adjust after the shock. Then you switch to flower.

so would it be wise for me to top sooner rather than later? does topping stunt the growth of the plant at all? i dont want the plants growth to be stunted by doing this.

i was thinking of topping about 2 weeks before i switch to flowering. i have 3 blue rhino plants at 4 weeks and want them to catch up in size to the 8 week before flowering. what would be ideal for the biggest yield? to have one fat cola or 2 medium colas?

well imo it would be more wise to top sooner. Im not an expert though fyi. As far as stunting growth, it stresses the plant and in doing so im sure it stunts the growth some but really stunts the vertical growth more but remember your goal is gain 2 growth shoots.
again i am no expert but if you were to top sooner i feel you benefit more than if you top later, as for yield i cant tell you. if you have a fuck ton of light on both colas and they have plenty of room then i would say you would get more than if you had a fuck ton of light on just one.

I wonder who and where mogie lifted this one from. He's a thief who likes to take credit for other's ideas and work, witness this: https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/9114-spin-out-chemical-root-pruning.html

Regarding topping, here's an old ditty. FIM'ming is not reliable.

Marihemp: Growing: The affect of Topping again........

Great detective work genius. Unless I missed it mogie didn't claim to invent this technique so I don't know what you are b!tching about...almost nothing done here is new or revolutionary the point is to learn and share.

Using Griffin's Spin-Out paint IS revolutionary with cannabis. I was the first to try it and the first to draft a pictorial FAQ detailing the paint and the results.

Second, posers who take others' work and play it like it is there own suck and that's happened alot to me. They are not honorable.

I have been teaching gardening for 10 years. This one thread is such an example:

Now, what revolutionary stuff have you come up with?

Hope that helps,
