Fimmed leaves look deformed

Ive seen this happen when the fim wasnt deep enough and the cut leaves continue to grow.In that case the plant was fine the leaves never did grow out normal, but caused no other issues. Its hard to tell by the pic but it looks like that might have happened here.

A good fim should look like this. Cut the deform leaves right where the stem ends and the leaf begins. Or it will waste energy growing those deformed leaves and taken away energy from the newly forming tops. IMG_20150530_144021.jpg

Fimmed/pinched, plucked then few days after supper cropped it then day after tied it down like so to keep it flat/90° and it's starting to shoot up but not sure if guy that showed me fim he pinched the top growth and plucked/popped/pulled it off and said that's it but idk plus told me to defoliate/cutting all the fan leafs to help with energy for growth growing on/down branches also the newest growth/top cola nodes the stem is purple any reason why??
