Figgy's Hideout

I figured I would start my own continuous thread since I've been here for a bit. That and I have finally made the jump to perpetual growing. The new tent and lights should be here by the end of the week.

So my set up is as follows:
3x3x8' Gorilla tent (flower)
600w Ushio HPS
Yield master 2 AC hood
400cfm Phresh filter
400cfm centrifugal exhaust
240cfm duct fan intake

Ipower 2x4x5 tent (veg)
2 - 4' LED lights

I'll be growing in Sunshine #4 advanced with added perlite. Jacks Citrus FeED nutes, Earthjuice calmag, and Dyno Gro Pro tek.

I'm hoping to be harvesting one to two plants every 4-5 weeks once in up and running.

My current grow has 2 Lambsbreads and 1 fem Dog left. I'm 7.5 weeks of 12/12 on these. image.jpeg
I just put 6 Fireball seeds from Breeders Boutique in a paper towel, and will have those in solo cups in a couple days. Those will be my first round starting this perpetual growing. I'm hoping for at least 2 good females out of these.

Thanks boss. I let a calmag issue get slightly out of hand this grow, but no worries. I had to pull one Dig out the tent due to nonstop nanners. Made some heady qwiso! Should be chopping this round in about 2.5 weeks, and hopefully the Fireball seeds have some nice tap roots by tonight.

What was the issue? How much cal mag do you feed and how often?

My version of out of hand is much less than most, but all is well now. I had some rust spots and yellowing up top. I just forgot to start adding calmag until week 3.5-4 of flower.

Looks like my tent and lights will be here Thursday, and my 99.9% ISO will be delivered Friday

Forgot to mention no roots on the seeds yet. At least nothing I can see through the plastic baggie and the paper towels. I'll check again tomorrow night.

Very good stuff! They will throw some sacs and nanners. Cloning is supposed to prevent future problems with them. I just had one plant giving me crap so I cut her down. The first time I ran them they were very manageable, and the smoke is top shelf. Great night time smoke.

Tent arrived today! Looks like I'll be setting this up, and hopefully getting seeds into solo cups. The frame is all metal and looks to be well made. I just hope the tent itself is not in need of any duct tape.image.jpeg

Also had 5 of my 6 Fireball seeds die on me. I think I left them too long in the paper towel and they rotted. One is going well, and I dropped the last 4 seeds in a glass of water the other day. Hopefully I can place those seeds in cups tonight and get back on track. Also get to test out a new batch of qwiso!

Why not germinate your seeds directly in soil? It's a much better way than paper towels for various reasons.

I've thought about it before, just never done it. I usually drop in a glass out water for a few days then into cups. These fireball seeds are tough. This is day 3 soaking and I finally see a tap root coming out this morning. Probably going into cups tonight or tomorrow.

There was a post by uncle ben on germinating directly in medium, I can't find the online version of it right now but here's a quote:

"less handling and mechanical disturbance means less chance of physical damage to the plant's taproot (and roothairs) and less food reserves used to position itself due to the natural hormonal influence called Gravitropism - that spells seedling VIGOR."

Never tried it either but sounds convincing.

UB is one I follow here and on RM3's site. I just haven't tried that method yet. The last 4 fireball seeds only cracked the shell with the tap root after 3 days in water. Must be some hard ass shells! I placed them in solo ups last night. Hopefully I'll get some poking out if the soil in a day or two. I will give that method a try with the next run of seeds in a month or so. Thinking of some Breeders Boutique sour kush x deep blue
