Well I an not perfect and will post the bad as well as the good.

Yesterday I mixed up my peters 20-20-20 at 1/4 strength like I always do for my plants in pots and applied it to my four clones I have growing.. went out this morning to check on them and three look fine, stretching to the sky to great the new day and one was bending down. I knew right away something was wrong, looking at the leaves I could see the burn from the effing nutes, so grab the hose and flushed the soil several times making sure the water was coming out the bottom like i do with a normal watering. flushed it again.. what was strange is the other three are fine and they all got the same watered from the same bucket.. Looking at it this after noon it will survive it is just going to be set back a little. I even pre-watered since sometimes if you apply nutes to dry soil it can burn the roots. It was about 95 here yesterday but I applied the fertilizer in the morning..

I was so pissed at myself for doing this but since it looks like I have flushed it early enough it will survive.
I am sure you all can tell which plant it is. fert burn.JPG

that is why I apply it at 1/4 recommend strength. Plus cannabis is pretty sensitive to fertilizer. Thinking about getting some fish fertilizer to use, or check out the nutrients forum here and see what others are using. what was odd is the other three plants are fine.

I have not had a prob but for some reason this one plant just did not like it this time. I still wonder if it was just the heat, 95 is kind of hot and I really should have waited till this heat wave was done.

no, 1 is Bubba kush and the other three are Black Domina and it was one of the Black Domina that burned.. The one that burned was the last one I watered so I wonder if it got the so called bottom of the barrel and it was a little too strong? I do mix it up very well and the 20-20-20 is a powder that dissolves good.

I'm making a mental note if I ever get Black Domina it might be sensitive to nutrients.

I think you're right about getting a stronger dose from the bottom. I prewater before feeding, as well. I've found, over many years that some plants are sensitive, to the point of an allergic reaction. I've had six foot plants suddenly, and literally 'collapse' for no visible reason. I never feed heavily, but sometimes the inexplicable happens.

Be careful people! So sad to see that!!! Like in smoking, you can always add more, but can't add less.

I saw this in another thread. I don't know much about growing (other than it's pretty easy), but it seems as though people in their quest to have the largest/biggest/best grow, over EVERYTHING their poor girls which can have some pretty bad results. Just chill, watch and err on the cautious side of nutes and managing.

Good luck all!

Thank you but you should read the first post of this thread, it will explain a lot more.

Thanks, I just noticed in the pic. I need to paint the bottom of that column again :hump:

I have also switched to Fish Emulsion for fertilizer, I will save the Peters for my palms and tropical s only
