Feds Threaten State Dispensaries Nationwide

Well, since he was arguing that it's immoral to incarcerate people in order to prop up GDP... yes, i did believe him. Another interesting factoid i pulled from that speech is that, in California, the biggest opponent of drug law reform is the CO's union. Drug laws equal job security for them.
The part I was questioning you believing was; "I saw Jerry Brown on CSPAN maybe 20 years ago talking about the economics of drug laws. The gist of his speech was that drug dealers by and large produce more for the GDP by being in prison than by being free." Maybe 20 years ago when it was totally illegal using the right numbers what he said could be made to look accurate. But there is no way in the world that if someone today used accurate numbers and true math that what he said would turn out to be true. I doubt it was true back when it said it.

In another tread, and actually I have posted it in a number of times in different threads, but when the testing procedure for THC was changed and it resulted in what was a false major increase in the percentage of THC making modern strains inaccurately appear to be far more potent than strains of the past it saved many jobs at the DEA and at State versions of the DEA and rather than them losing jobs and having funding cut like it was being proposed by some at the time their funding was increased and more jobs were created.

Organizations like that will fight if for no other reason than to retain funding and retain jobs regardless of what factual evidence is presented about herb not only being safe but also highly beneficial to many for it's medicinal properties. Groups like that don't give a damn how many people suffer or how many honest citizens they turn into criminals. All they care about is keeping their jobs and getting their funding increased.

A few well known and much loved celebrities that have not been in trouble, maybe a few former members of government that were never in any trouble, a handful of med patients who could honestly say it gave them back quality of life, or at least far more than they had using pharmaceuticals, some doctors and scientists explaining the cancer fighting properties, and anything else positive put in front of everyone's face from the east coast to the west coast and from the Canadian border to Mexico and the Gulf Coast. Inundate the people with positives presented by people they like and respect and by people who have been helped and maybe even cured.

Toss in the financial gains for the nation, if a system like I described were to be pushed, and the public would go for it and they would tell their representatives in government they want it and they have to vote for it or the voters will replace them and if the new ones don't vote for it they will be replaced and it will keep happening until it is legalized, or at the very least legalized nationally for medicinal use. Once that would happen fully legalization would not be far behind.
Hate to be late on this addition, I agree with a lot of whats being talked about, but its always good to be completely honest with a positivity campaign; adding honest statements about the potential for habituation, and emphasizing the fact that legalization means regulation, which means keeping it out of the hands of minors more effectively. The cannabis culture has nothing to be ashamed of, be open and honest and it should provide the political stability for the changes desired. This would be a prime opportunity to employ an "if by whiskey" strategy as well--which would also provide an in for discussing the racial prejudice of the term "marijuana"
