Favorite strains

I would like to hear about your favorite strains. What are the qualities and characteristics of the best plants you have ever grown and smoked?

The strain in my avatar is my #1 all-time favourite to smoke and grow: Cinderella 99

- fast flowering sativa (9-10 weeks) that is a good yielder and very easy to grow
- best smelling and tasting strain that I have encountered with two main phenotypes. Both grow identically to one another, but one smells and tastes like pure pineapple, the other sour grapefruit
- great potency, and provided a very happy and functional sativa high making it my favourite day-time smoke
- in larger amounts it can get very racy and trippy with very little ceiling like most great sativas

It's tough to find nice sativas in Canada unless you grow them yourself, and the Cindy 99 really blew my socks off in all aspects.....as close to a "perfect strain" as you can get in my books.

I wouldn't say I have a favorite. I like testing out new strains whenever I can and it seems they are always changing anyway. Most the stuff I smoked as a teen can't even be found anymore (besides blueberry and white widow). The stuff I smoke/prefer today probably won't be around in 10-20 years either. My favorites lately are hempstar and blue cheese.

I really liked my C99xDeep Chunk...awesome pain control...tastes like juicy fruit gum, smelled awesome, did I mention pain control? Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find it anymore. Another new one I really like is The Purps. It has the nastiest gasoline/pepper smell and awesome pain control, long lasting, tastes different to me...hard to describe.

Well recently I found someone who is growing Burmese cross his calls is "daytime" Looks like Sour Diesel but has a bit different smell to it. So far everyone that's smoked it, loves it, which is funny coming from Kush lovers. I get quite giggly on it and this is the first time I could acatually drive on weed.

Another one I just tried a few weeks ago was Blue Cheese. Very short high only lasted about 2 hours BUT for me it was sooo relaxing and stress removing. It was awesome. I prefer the short high as I rather have more control and smoke when I need it then be fucked for hours. For me smoking a join ot say MK I'll be high for like 5 hours.

How was the taste and smell on the Blue Cheese? I grew out Barney's version a couple of years back, and it had a really strange chemical-floral type taste and smell to it....nothing like any of the Cheese or Blueberry that I have grown or smoked, and I didn't really care for it. Nice high and potency, but I didn't run it again based on the flavour.

The blue cheese I get around here is super funky smelling, a real pungent smell, unlike any other cannabis smell I've experienced before (sweet, skunky, sour etc). There's also a voodoo x blue cheese we get sometimes that is real nice and a little better tasting. The blue cheese isn't the greatest tasting I've smoked but the high is super nice and relaxing, works great for my pain and spasms before bed.

That very well could be the Barney's version, as it sounds quite similar to my experience......the smell and taste really are indescribable and quite unlike anything else I have come across, it's the kind of taste and smell that you either love or hate, I just couldn't get past it. The most popular versions of Blue Cheese are Barney's and Big Buddha's, so if it is a legit BC strain chances are it will be one of the two. I've never tried the BB version, so I can't comment on that one.

Man Devil Lettuce (love the sn) that C99 is gorgeous. I just had to cut my C99 because it was a dude, bag seed but from an amazing crop of C99. Probably a hermie pollination from what I understand though.

Picture in my avatar is some cheese x twisted purple kush in my stash jar, absolutely loving this cut. That funky cheese smell and taste with a very fruity exhale. Some of the prettiest bud I've had too, the purple is all inner bud, don't see much until you break it up.

I'm a sucker for Bubba Kush (usually hits me like a train, soothes pain, calms down nausea and helps me sleep)

Thanks man, those are some great looking nugs you've got yourself! Shame about your Cindy, if you want to run it again Female Seeds has a fantastic version at a super reasonable price.

I too am a big fan of the Sour D.....any strain with a fuelly/sour taste just gets my mouth watering.....

The bud itself is kinda skunky/musty but if you break it apart at least for me it smells like mint.

favorite strain.. this is going to be cliche but def chocolope and sour d.

the chocolope was top notch all the way around, texture, heavenly smell, sweet velvety chocolate flavour and perfect blend of sativa/indica high. sativa clear at first, with enough indica to help your mind stop racing and relax at the end.

the sour d was the whole package. it looked like a centerfold. lime green with golden hairs and huge calyx's. i love that funky diesel fuel flavor. sweet/slightly rotten fruit, with the chem funk just over top of it. not super potent, but very enjoyable, euphoric effect that didn't ruin your day.

DNA's Chocolope is fantastic, I ran it two grows ago and it was an absolute pleasure. Can be a little stretchy and unruly, but with a little training it isn't tough to tame. Like nsbudca mentioned, the taste and smell are simply amazing......creamy and chocolaty with sweet fruity undertones. Some of the smoothest smoke around after a nice cure. Not overpoweringly strong/potent, but a great mellow sativa-dom smoke for during the day.....it's the kind of stuff you would smoke for the taste alone even if it didn't get you high.

For me, its MNS Z7 Series, which is a limited edition series - part of a collaboration between MNS Shantibaba and Resin Seeds Jaime.

Its got a THC-dom pheno and a CBD-dom pheno, with varying cannabinoid ratios, with it spitting 50% of the beans on the CBD-rich side. It takes some growing out to find desirable characteristics, since it spits out some variation in its THC:CBD ratios, but the smells and tastes are very impressive.

The THC-dom pheno has an epic and lingering orange peel taste, and the CBD-dom pheno is sweet, like candy & berries. One of the phenos Shantibaba tested had an incredible 15% CBD and 10% THC.

Its a decent yielding strain, but not massive. Its a good medicinal strain, with many possibilities, due to how it spits out different ratios.

So many choices, so hard to do. I agree that I also like to have many strains on hand as well. But if I was left on the deserted island by the tweed sight seeing barge, I'd pick......Suicide cheese and Blueberry 93.
The blueberry 93 smells like berries and tastes super smooth ( having one right now ). Medium in strength but very smooth on all accounts. Light in color and always consistent. I wish i could get a hold of it or see it growing. I really like it but only get some once in a while.
The suicide is the best smelling weed and the stinkiest I've ever seen in my 200 years on this planet. Even more so than Skunk 1 x Northern lights of 25 years ago..and that stuff stunk to high heaven and was exactly like a real skunk..buy anyway back to the Cheese....Simply insane smell that captivates all who wiff her odor. Sounds kinda sexy doesn't it. It is. It is also the butt fuckin ugliest army green monotone colored scrawny bitch on the block. I only ever saw it once elsewhere than ...here.. at the Expo in TO 3 years ago. Some northern compassion guys had it. It tastes very heavy in a good way and leaves your tongue with a wonderful interpretation of it's smell. Way past a skunk odor and even more stinky. I love the smell. It hits great and last hours. I am pretty bad a describing stones...sorry.
Anyone I've ever shown it too is blown away by the stink of it...such a great stink. Almost a deep rot..but not. I simply can't describe it. THe Iranian Chemdawg is similar but toned down much much more. The suicide has zero bag appeal and anyone would dismiss it as scagg weed...until they get a wiff...then they pay attention. And after smoking it then they become enlightened as to it potent strength and rich flavor. I handed out maybe 10 cheezers at the show and had a least 5 of those folks say to me the next day...fark was that ever good and did I ever get a buzz. It's truly King Cheese...the big cheese......not like other cheese or even like any real cheese...

I love Sour Diesel and its awesome for SOG with no veg straight to Flower from clone. Those are at week 6 and 49 per light. I believe those were 1 gal pots. Its been a while....
