Fast organic source for Nitrogen. PLants are N Def(pics)

I'm using Bountea for my feed. Pretty sure I locked out N on the Grape Apes because I feed them more molasses than they liked. 2 tbls a gallon, 3 times a week

So 4 of my plants are showing N def, I need a quick way to get some nitrogen into them organically.

Any suggestions?

I mix some fresh soil with a couple of tbsp bone meal and use about 1/2 inch of the mixture as top soil. I notice results the next day in my plant, although the real yellow leaves tend not to recover. I also water after adding the soil. I'm sure there are hundreds of ways to give your girls more N but this is what works for me :)

hey Cesaro, do you drink coffee in every morning ? for me, I love to drink black ground coffee every mornings and walk to the patio and take a breath of fresh air , drinking coffee and checking your plants at same time...if i see the N def, and walk back to my kitchen I have a ground coffee maker and take out the brewed ground coffee and spread on the top of pots..and water...hopefully this will help ya :)

Fish Emulsion!! Alaska fish you can buy pretty much anywhere 5-1-1 usually. 100% organic, and green up in 2 days!

I'll third that motion on fish emulsion. It's available very fast to the plants, and because it's in liquid form, it gets right down to the roots. Dry mixes that you have to top-dress take a while to soak their way into the soil before the roots can get at em.

Be warned though, even the deodorized stuff smells like satan's asshole.

Coffee will work, but it's not nearly as concentrated in nitrogen, and it can really make your soil overly acidic. I found it very difficult to keep my ph in check when I was using coffee grounds, and I just stopped because it was causing a lot of lockout issues due to the fluctuations.

Wow thanks so much for the responses! I think I will do fish emulsion tomorrow morning, grab some Alaskan at home depot. What is a good application rate for that? also is foliar feeding necessary, or even recommended?

Don't foliar feed, that shit smells bad enough as it is in soil. Seriously, I can hardly mix the stuff without gagging. Foliar feeding with organics is usually a bad idea, it's just too bloody messy and smelly.

Mix 30ml per gallon of water. It will take a few days to really notice the difference, so be patient and resist the urge to over-correct with excessive fertilization.

hmmmm I don't think I'd go with 30ml-gallon, that's alot the first time. Depends on the specific product....read the label. I would foliar feed too if your plant is outside. Organic foliar feeding is an absolutely great idea if they're outside, I don't know why anyone would say foliar feeding with organics is a bad idea....that's non-sense. Yea, it's stinky, but it's worth it, and that is THE only bad thing about it. It helps with midew and bugs. And DEFINITLY don't listen to the goof that said put fresh manure on it.....sheesh, that's the quickest way to burn your plants up.

lol now thats funny...when you re ready to start your journal about your sun room ? and how is your monster plant in the thorn area ? :)
That monster plant is the one that needs to be pissed on...lol. I hit it with a tad too much molasses a few weeks ago, had to go back last week to correct the N deficiency. Used a 10-10-10 as opposed to urine. Tomorrow I go water again and check on another site I haven't visited in a month. I've been holding off on the journal until I collect more pics, plus I have an unidentified 5 footer in full flower indoors I need to include. I must have mixed up a bean last Spring while planting, now I have a surprise blooming that is definitely sativa dominant.

Have a good one!

I say don't foliar feed even if your outside because of the pest that show up - you would be surprised at what the smell can attract. Tried it once, and I had deer, bears, racoons, and all sorts of critters ransacking my garden. Of course if you live in an area without wildlife concerns, then maybe its okay, but I won't ever do it again. Additionally, it's just not natural for plants to draw their nutrients through the foliage, and there is some evidence that foliar feeding can stunt root growth. Foliar feeding just isn't really needed unless you are trying to correct a deficiency quickly.

I foliar fed them, I haven't seen any negatives yet, I'm in a greenhouse, so bugs aren't a major concern. I had mites(funny the plants o outside never got them) but I sprayed them a ton and they are all gone, I've looked under random leaves for a couple weeks now with no spider mites.. Only thing I've seen are a couple blister beetles in the last week, but grasshoppers here were unbelievable, never seen so many before, so that explains those.

My biggest concern was burning them. I'm going to have to disagree about foliar feeding, I've read acdemic articles that seem to prove conclusively that plants take up nutes, and that it's not detrimental to their overall vigor. Don't you think plants over millions of years of evolution figured out a way to pull minerals from rain that collects on their leaves?
