Hello all,
Going to make a 2x4x6 stealth grow cab, have a tent the same size but can not have the tent in plain view due to renting a house.Plan on getting LED lights 300 or 400w. Have a 6in fan from a old set up, but very loud when on. Plan on having a carbon filter, and duct muffler, and speed control. Will this knock the sound down, trying to make a very quit grow box, thanks for the input

here are some pics of my 6" german fan, and the 6" carbon filter I went with, along with the variac speed controller, you will notice those items along with the 6" vent elbow pretty much fill the top of my grow box, i didnt have room for a store bought silencer, I did do allot of reading and video watching of silencers, and what I was prepaared to do was buy some foam sheet from home depot, like 6 bucks, and i was going to cut the foam with scisors into 1 inch triangles and hot glue these to the inside of my elbow and make a home made silencer , if you look at the store bought ones that is what they look like inside is foam triangles glued inside the pipe, if you have room for a store bought one and you want to save the trouble of constructing one, go for it, for me the variac speed controller slowed the fan so much that it was deathly silent when running in my box with no silencer needed, but that may not be the case for you, notice i was also able to hard bolt my fan right to the ceiling of the box, no bungie or rubber mount needed, also because of the variac speed controller, if I run a summer crop and temps get to be to high, i can speed the fan up ALLOT!,, and if it makes noise that is beyond stealth I can then rubber mount the fan, and even glue in the foam, but for now I have not had tooIMG_7412.JPGIMG_7490.JPG
