Fan Power Issues.

So I bought a pack of five f\computer fans off of ebay. they require 12 volts to run. I want to run all of them and I'm not sure how to wire them all up together. I read a few things on how to do this, none really helped. Do I need individual plugs to run them? and what do i get? will cellphone chargers work? Thanks ahead of time.:bigjoint:

If they are using a combined amount of 12 volts then get volt power plug like from a cell phone or something similar wire them all to it and test them it should run fine and safe just check the plug making sure it is not hot or you may need a larger volt plug recheck your math make sure you wire them all the same same if you wire it backwards worst that should happen is they run backwards and then you would just reverse the wiring not great grammer but was in a hurry hope it helps

No, they are twelve volts each. So, I'm not sure what to do. do they make twelve volt converters or Inverters? which one do I need?:wall:

You just need to wire them in parallel, ie all red wires together, and all black wires together. Wire these to the positive and negative wires on your phone charger (assuming it is 12 volts), and they will work, provided the combined milliamp rating of the fans does not exceed the rating on the adapter.

How would I find out the mili amps of the fans? and for the adapter? the fans don't say anything except the brand name...

If they don't say, just wire them up and try it. It's only 12 volts, so it won't do you any harm. If it doesn't work with all the fans at once, just remove them one at a time until it does work.
