Fan leaves burning?

Hey, I recently planted 3 bagseeds under x2 42 watt warm cfl's, x2 27 watt + x1 22 watt cool cfl's. So about 160 watts in total; a little low but their small + in a really compact place (Still plenty of vent + 2 fans on all day + pretty damn humid due to vaporizor + cups of water all over the place) and I'll add more in time when needed.

So my question is is it okay for the fan leaves to be burning off two of my plants? Their other leaves look just fine and are growing well, and the plants are not streached or anything like that, but the fan leaves are pretty much done on two of the plants; the others are doing fine but thats because it's bigger leaves are covering the fan leaves, or so I assume.

Also, ph of the water is 6.6ish and it's in a pretty compact + reflective but still cool place. Using MG Organic choice + perilite, nothing else added as of yet. (2 or so weeks after breaking through shell.)

BTW- 2nd or 3rdish attempt in the past few months, so I kinnda have a rough idea of what I'm doing which is why I listed all this stuff. No camera though, so I can't take pics, which sucks.

Thanks for helping. I really am just making sure it's okay if they burn off or not, since I keep my CFL's close as fucking possible without damaging the plant. (Fan leaves? Who needs them after the first real set or two form? Do you?)

Hey MJ,

Can you post a picture?
When you saying "burning" .. are you talking about nute burn or light burn?

cheers

im in my 2nd week of 12/12, got 2 females out of 3:hump:!!!!!!!!!!!!!, ne wayz i noticed that in flowering those bitches grow like hmmm.. weeds. i am alwayz moving my lights, if they touch 4 2 long they will cause burning and die... also, ur plants will tell u if ur lights r 2 close.. if they are bending, turning from tha light its 2 close.. that can b an early warning sign b4 they burn

Its not that hard really. If they touch the light or get too close say a couple centimeters they will burn. Yes there is a reason god put fan leaves on plants its called photosynthesis.

no one can really help you if you don't make sense, post pictures, or give details.

Could be nute burn if the tips curl down and burn starts from tip and works in. You fell victim to "organic." Should have used MG moisture control as I know that won't burn plants (i'm using it) there could be too many easily available nutrients in the soil and if its the bottom leaves are burning thats my best bet. "Organic" means jack shit as far as healthy or good, the bloodmeal and other stuff they use could still be biologically too hot (highly available NH3 or potassium or phosphate) and burning your plants. It's just a word to make hippies feel better about their shitty lives. I'd like to shoot whoever started using it, it means containing carbon thats it.

Don't get me wrong "organic" nutrients can be as good as chem or better it really just doesn't matter if the plant gets everything they need and no extra but chances are the MG stuff is overfeeding. It says feeds for 3 months but sometimes it feeds the first 2 months the 2nd week.

Just pay attention to the plant. I have myn in MG moisture control as was suggested by another member and I am in limbo as to feeding it or not. I did however get a soil test kit. Tests for ph, Nit Pot PHos so i will use that after spring break. got it at home depot i think.

I have been feeding Malt extract (like molasses this is used for brewing its from barley has alot of nutrients in it probably more than molasses) but if you start to get nute burn obviously back off. Mine were on the very edge for a long time almost all leaf tips were rolling down on the ends but they finnally straightened out so i think its startin to run low. It was about at perfect fert for a while there. you can tell by leaf color too myn were dark dark green almost over fert but they made it.

That was just theoretical the 2 months thing however if you look and can see those little balls of nutes are still intact your probably ok. The scary thing with this slow release stuff is it could all the sudden dump nutes and burn your plant in flower or even kill it. especially if you start fertilizing...

follow general fert guidlines you can find them everywhere on this site for whatever stage you are in, if you feel it needs more.
