Fabric pots

I am looking to upgrade my pots from 5gal buckets to fabric pots. I found american made pots for less than half the price of smart pots brand. I was looking at 10 and 15 gallon. There is not much of a price difference, but the 15 gal is 1" wider 3" taller... I have smaller smartpots but I could not transplant out of them and they are pretty useless.

So what is your question exactly? It will help solve your problem if you state it m8.

Sorry, I went back to ebay to see the brand that I was looking at, Ruth's pots. Out of Iowa. My question is, are all fabric pots created the same? Equal?

As a big time ebay-er I will tell you no. I purchased a few fabric pots that were really thin. Plus you would want to get them with handles. It saves a ton of trouble.
The price difference is pretty big $113 for 25 of Ruth's 15gal, or $99 for 10 smartpot 15gal... I was leary of the lower price. The smart pots that I do have seem to be sturdy but I have not seen any other brands in person.

I got my fabric pots from several different sources - some are thicker & sturdier than others; some have handles some do not- either way the plants don't seem to care which ones they are in; they all grow the same way. I say you get what you pay for but just because it has a label that says smart pot doesn't mean it is superior to geo pots or root pouches or whatever nomenclature the people in the marketing dept came up with. Get yourself a quality fabric pot but don't overpay either- check out eBay. Personally i like the geopot brand fabric pots the best: they are durable and have nice big handles for moving large plants around plus they are moderately priced.

I've never used ruths but of what I have used. Smart pots and via grow tm are garbage. Geo pots are the best. Then root pouch after that. Roots organic pots are decent too.

Geo pots best price is from growers house and root pouch best price is on amazon

I've been using 30 gal tan geo pots outside. They're great. I'm planning on getting some 15 gal ones for indoor very soon.

I didnt mean to complain about price. I dont like it when you help someone and they complain, I didnt mean to. You were telling me about your favorite brand...
I get mad when people buy Penzoil oil for thier car even when I tell them to get anything else! It has parafin wax and will gum up if you miss an oil change. I am still learning from you guys!

thats hilarious man... my WORLD is helping people and getting complaints from them.
just earlier today in fact, a customer that we didi100 dollars worth of shit to her car for free, complained because we couldn't email her a copy of the recommend work that we said was the problem. The itemized detailed workorder when she picked up the car wasn't good enough for her... she wanted an email. even though I likely saved her 700 dollars because the waterpump she just had replaced is pissing all over her cam belt, told her she had a warrantee claim. She never said anything was wrong until she was WALKING out the damn door..... hmmm sorta like some women I've dated eh?
Never even heard the saying "no good deed goes unpunished" until I started in this profession years ago.

I feel slow at times but it just occured to me, I will need more soil for bigger pots.

I just started some bodhi sativa seeds and I probably need to focus on soil first anyways. I was thinking about going cheap and getting pots and soil. I think that I will get quality pots and soil. So, I might wait a month and prep soil first. I really need to get away from my Espoma mixed soil and get some better amendments. Could I afford most of the amendments for $250? Sorry to be so scatter brained.

I am sold on Geopots!

Heck yeah. You have an idea of how much soil you will need and what kind you want to run? I'm doing Coots mix kit. It was $55.00 from build a soil and came with free shipping. It makes 9 cubic feet of soil. Which is about 67 gallons.

all depends on how much soil you are making man.
nothing wrong with epsoma, you could tweek it to do a lil better, but it'll grow herb just fine.
For me, I re-use my soil, as well as my fabric pots, so I don't cut corners on either.
Only the best for my grow, the difference in money isn't worth it.
Bulbs, genetics, pots, soil, etc.

I run 15 gal indoors and just got some fabric pots from local hydro store the we're like 6 dollars a piece. I have been a bad boy on this forum and they have my account set on limited so I have not been able to respond or communicate much with anyone. But I think with 250 you could get everything just don't buy extra. Get your soil cooking then slowly by extra ammendments.
@greasemonkeymann I feel you on the idiots that walk into the shop and you can explain and show them and your still full of it. It happens lol. One dayif I can ever get to cali I am going to hunt your ass down and smoke some fatties with you bro.
