Just a quick update..........the plan now is chop everything Monday (8 weeks exactly), it will probably take me around 16-18 hours to do all 24 plants thoroughly- won't be less, might be more though. A few early smoke reports....

Everything smoked so far has been quick dried in a food dehydrator so taste and smell are gone but smoking the piece should give me a good indication of the buzz. The very first time I smoked a bowl, I did one Roor bong hit and headed out to the local Home Depot. On the way, I had a slight panic attack and had to pull over to a 7-11 and get a snack and drink to relax a few. I attribute that to the earliness of the bud, it was around day 43 so mostly clear and some cloudy trichomes. Mind you, I've been smoking for over 40 years now..........it reminded me of a very good C99.

Since then, as it continues to mature and ripen, the indica buzz has come on more as the sativa buzz has left. Very calming and relaxing, I've been sleeping great. I'm really enjoying listening to music and playing the guitar some, it's definitely a chill pill smoke. It's not something I would necessarily want to go out with, drive around, shop, etc........ plan on sticking close to home.

Everything is cut and drying, for a couple of days now. But I'm still trimming the small stuff to make hash with. In about 10 days I'll do a complete review with final weight. comments, a strain review and grow advice. Here's a few pic's for now....

SSHZ, do you still use Big Blue for odor control? If so, what size & hows that working for you?

Yes I do Johnny..... actually just pulled the unit down yesterday to clean the bulbs. Not sure of the size, maybe it's a 10 incher with 3 bulbs inside. It's excellent for controlling the odor that goes outside- it's connected to the exhaust system. It doesn't do anything for the smell in the room and house. Bulbs last about a year, other then that, shop around for the best price.

Here's a final write up of the strain..........

First I'll say, before I begin, straight indica's are not my preferred smoke- I like hybrids, leaning to the indica side. I grew this for some of my medical people who suffer from pain and have problem's sleeping, among other things. They've been asking for a straight indica for a while, and I've finally gotten around to it. I have not grown anything from Expert Seeds before, and what attracted me the most was the heavy yield forecasted by the breeder.

So, 28 day veg, chopped at exactly 8 weeks. 100% germination of the seeds. Quite leafy, but an easy grow that stays short. It's about an 8/10 on the stink meter- not terrible, I've grown a lot worse. It showed slight Cal/Mag deficiency, as I purposely tried to cut back some to measure against my normal results. I use R.O. water, so keep your cal/mag at about 9-10ml/gallon and you'll be fine. Average feeding scale, topped off at about 1200 ppm, but 1100 ppm on average the last couple of weeks.

Yield: I got 55 oz. under 2000 watts of light. I didn't boost the ballasts 10% this time, but the bulbs were new. Loads of lower, unfinished buds below the upper canopy. I think I have about a lb of lower fluff, just dried, to turn into hash. Grown properly, yields could be increased at least 25%.

Effect: A chill pill, a nap is not long off after a few puffs. Very calming and anti-anxiety. Smoked with a vape, initially hits the head and then the body effect comes on. Thru the bong, no head buzz at all but a wave of relaxation comes on quickly. Pieces cut early were devastatingly potent, but straight sativa effects. I think I told you earlier about a slight panic attack the first time I smoke an early piece.

Taste: A variety of flavors, hints of fruit/spice/musk/earthy.....not my strong point in describing flavors.

Smell: Just like Black Domina. Mainly indica, deep and rich stink. Typical, like you would expect. How about "sickly" sweet......

At the harvest, I was very unhappy at seeing how much lower bud went to waste- well not waste, but not sellable if you get my drift. Initial potency was questionable, a very tough trim of the buds at the end........but 10 days later I feel completely different. The 1st time I grow something, I like to let it alone to see how the plant grows without interference- I know I can do even better with this strain.

My final comments now are this is was a successful grow. It's not overly potent, but it's good for people looking for this type of strain. Keep the Cal/Mag high, de-leaf early and often to allow light to the lower areas of the plants, lollipop 1/4-1/3 of the bottom part of the plant the 1st week of flowering and let the plant go 8.5 weeks- I think I could have gone another 4-5 days no problem. I would grow this again, without hesitation, and plan on it after my next growing crop of Cookie Wreck, by the same Expert Seeds.

So, stays short and grew easily, solid yield, great resin production with good (but not great) potency. People who have tried it so far are giving it high marks, which makes me very happy............some final pictures up later today.

I also got around 10 grams of black hash from the lower plant stuff not suitable for smoking.......it's wonderful in it's concentrated form.

SSHZ, besides adding perlite to your mix, do you add a layer of perlite to the top?

No, but after watering it gradual floats to the top. Every once it a while I'll mix the soil up top with my hands to lower the perlite again.

A Gorilla Glue #4 hybrid with Cookie Wreck........already 11 days above ground. I think around 28%-32% THC.

Back for the last time in this thread before starting another on the Gorilla Glue hybrid..........regarding the Sweet Zombie, there is some variation in the pheno's as one is done just about at 8 weeks, the rest should go between 8.5-9 weeks for full potency. But getting rave reviews- it's not overly potent, but it's still a nice item and puts me down for a nap almost every time I smoke it. Make sure you lollipop the shit out of it and remove extra leaves early and often but other then that, well worth a grow for yield, ease and
