Experimenting...

Has anyone tried or heard of the following scenario? If so please reply with results...

Take a clone from a female in vegative growth. Put into 12/12 to induce flowering. Allow to develop a dozen or so calyxes and then pollenate and put back into vegative growth.

Hypotheses welcome....

not to sure about the results but if you try this post on it when the results are in. what is the purpose? to get seeds without giving up flowering room?

I honestly cannot say what the purpose would be, or why this crossed my mind. I guess I thought it may be a way to accelerate a breeding program in limited space situation. Perhaps a way to arrive at the ability to inbreed a plant faster. If the plant produces viable seed and continues to veg I would then be able to cross it with it's own seeds a little faster than normally. Again, limited grow space is factor.
In any event experiment is underway.

Seeds are well developed. Plant has been in regenerative growth and is healthy. Still not into full veg yet as the leaves have not reached the blade count of the mother.

You would risk stressing the plant to hermie itself... I don't want any hermie in my genetics I don't know about you...

Never considered that possibility Tom. You raise a good point.
Just messin' around a bit. Probably turn out to be a pointless experiment anyway. But, I wanted to try.

I've seen people pollinate sexed clones and then throw them outside to reveg, so this probably would accomplish the same thing. What are you trying to accomplish new?
