Just saw your pics and it's very impressing .can u tell me how much actual watt the 320 uses ? Thanks John T
Thanks mate, yeah it uses 320 watts bro, the confusing thing about suppliers marketing LED's is that they either

a) call them by their output power (just mulitply the No. of LEDs by 3 watt = output, apparantely)
b) call them by their power draw (ie the GS320, GS160 etc..)

then theres the myth of how much wattage they actually use to power their LED's, ....... it goes on bro

The GS160 also uses the same as its title , 160Watts.

Hope that helps bro!

Thanks for the reply .what would u say the equivalent for the 320 and 160 is in hps lights ?.....John T
ohhh at what height mate? ohhh no, lol, im not getting into making any wild comparisons etc...too many different variables here to compare.

But i will, as i feel i have to, explain my opinions on it all, Tis just my opinion tho ok everyone? cool.

Its like im the UN of LED's here, wearing a bright blue helmet in a war zone. nice. lol.

So lets just take one point to consider then shall we? Yield.

so based upon that fact alone, im gonna play it real safe, 160 = 250W HPs easy 320 = 450W HPS easy.

But of course it all comes down to the gardeners skill aswell doesnt it?

Ive seen people pull 1.5 Oz under 3 1000W HPS bulbs, Gavitas aswell, why? Poor PH. Poor Temps.Poor Gardening basically,. Not the Lights fault eh?

See ma point?
so thats why comparisons to HPS cause so many rows/problems.....

There is a chap on here tho that i was kindly pointed to, showing a comparison grow between HPS and Apache Tech LED, dude,
maybe hes the best person to ask?

as for me, ive seen all sorts of results with HPS in the past, Good ones, mind blowingly good ones, but especially bad ones. Cracked bulbs, dodgy humming ballasts etc,,,,

So I had enough of HPS etc.., not for the cost of running but the safety of growing with them, plus the other issues they bring.

On a Average, 85% light loss from HPS is a bit concerning to say the least aswell (thats 85% of your electricity going down the drain you know?)

And too many horror storys of accidental fires..Plus theres the heat issues and the noise it takes to clear that heat, not exactly stealthy.

so to properly compare both from those points of view would be easy, but results?, I just let the growers decide whats best for them innit?

Its like owning a car, yeah little super fast cars are nice etc.. but when ya got three kids and a dog, practicality kicks in more dont it?
so we buy something more suited to our lifestyle, but that dont mean we got to lose all the fun, you can get some 'grandad' estate cars that are fast...volvo T5-R series for example.
So LEDs to me, are more like that. As funny as it sounds.

They are a new Tech, meant to be used for different reasons, ie growing in smaller areas, more stealthy, more maintenance free, just get on with what you want to get on with, and thats growing.

After all, Any Light would be useless without a grower using them eh? just like a car without a driver in the first place. Useless,

Peace Bro.

I'm trying to decide which led to purchase . I currently use a BC Northern Lights "producer" model (on the web) . It's 4 ft long by 28 inches wide and 40 inches high and has 2 x 400 hps . Im afraid that the 320 will be to strong . I thought that the 320 would equal a 600 hps and the 160 would be closer to a 400 and give me more useable power .what are your thoughts . ( my best with hps was 570 g from one box in 12 weeks start to finish )
How long did u run 24 hours on full time and how long 18/6 and did u go 12/12....John

yo mate, the 320 is no way near as hot running as two 400HPS thats for deffo, personally i would go for the two 160's angled at the sides, better coverage then and double the yellow/white LED's, cos the 320 has only got one whereas the 160 has one each.

This grow was ran on 24/0 all the way through mate. I didnt need to go 12/12 as the Dark Devil is a Automatic Strain bro.

I say whats your budget? if you can afford it 1 at600 led in a 4x4 area. i',m watching https://www.rollitup.org/t/apache-at600-led-vs-1000w-hps-blue-dream-grow.813412/page-16#post-10441443 and that led is right up with the hps 1000 total max setup. so you can start small and add more lights as you grow or bite the bullet and start right. it depends on your growing experience. if you are newer then get a light that can do 2 small plants and add. if you know how to grow buy the right light the first time. at600 runs at 685 watts. I'm saving for it myself. You need to decide how much you can spend.
