I found this story interesting. It's about a troll of epic proportions who has plagued forums and blogs since the mid 90's. He would spam atheists threads, emails, twitter, ect from sunup to sundown with threats of death and torture. I find this level of obsession amazing. I wonder if he ever made his way to RIU.

This story outlines his exploits, how they found him, and his arrest. Sad news is, he's already out and apparently back at it, although on a much smaller and quieter scale.

This guy was telling teenage girls he was going to kick their head in, not sure he is worried about being kosher, and the article did not report his eating habits. ;)

i would like an example of just 1 death threat from an atheists to a "believer" on here. Much less thousands of them over years to multiple people. It's normally best to read articles before commenting bro.

because Atheists are the minority group that slinks about in the shadows, bursting up once in a while from our toilets to remind us that alot of fucked up things are OK to do shit like that. They offer very little in their little "belief" about the planet, only their intellectual property that is about a topic other than religion or politics is of any use and notable to "us" because atheists did it.

Maybe an atheists death threat to us is their shallow, closed minded belief that a giant "bang" allowed us to be here on RIU and yuck it up about the smart shit all day

God doesn't kill people, people kill themselves. it's that fucking simple. Fornication isn't good. It let's idiocy run rampant in our gene pool. Gays tell you to be gay with them is not good, atheists, it just isn't. Where is Barney the Atheist Dinosaur, the man in the black hat

Did someone say this dude was "filthy Fil"? I've seen his posts on here.
We did have GMO on this site briefly- I think he might be famous, he's some dude named George who thinks he is God
I'm not sure I understand this thread can someone elaborate?

For sending death threats. In most countries freedom of speech ends at making direct threats of violence.

This dude has threatened countless individuals over many years. A person that obsessed and that violent should be considered dangerous. Dude needs a permanent stay in the psyche ward.

Mabus may have been obsessive and hostile, but he was actually more intellectual than chronicobsession. He was aware of Pascals wager, that atheism is a non-position, ect, he just didn't like it. CO seems more like a garden variety redneck bigot probably more of a threat to his sister than to me.

the idea is the same, target someone for having opposing beliefs.

    what is your problem?

oh yea, you are an atheist too and dont like being called out

The problem is not that anyone was targeted. Religious people target non-believers all the time when they knock on their door. They just wanna talk so it's fine. I explained in the OP that what I found interesting was the obsession.

The problem is that the guy spammed insane and disturbing death threats, threatened to kill family members, ect. and he would do it nearly round the clock at amazing volumes. People feared bombs being planted in their cars and workplaces, people were afraid for the lives of their loved ones. It was terrorism.

This is a recurring theme with you Oly. You comment on threads without taking the time to understand them, even after people tell you your comments do not pertain. This is your idea of calling someone out? You seem stubbornly determined to make yourself look foolish.

lol, alright oly. Perhaps you are correct. Let me try a different approach, with 'I' statements.

If there is an example of an atheist targeting believers with spam and deaths threats on the scale of Mabus, then I certainly agree that it deserves the same amount of media coverage. Perhaps the reason there is no media coverage for such an event, is because it hasn't happened. No matter a person's religious beliefs, I do not support the tactics of terrorism.

I have no problem with believers targeting atheists for discussion or vice versa.
