NoI've never wired a light controller before. But if all you need is 30 amps, asking for a four prong dryer plug / outlet will suffice for that. You can just tell the electrition that while he's here to add an additional circuit for gaming computer or anything that takes a lot of power if u need more than 30A

sorry to the OP...i would never want anybody to get hurt EVER...i was just thinking out loud...maybe smoked a little...i am definitly not a certified electrician, so do listen to someone with all the correct knowledge and do what is up to your comfort level..that is what makes these forums so good is that you get all kinds of angles to your problem.....good luck my friend..

Up8, the key is staying calm and consistent, no electrician can report you since you’re not doing anything illegal in just getting some wiring. However, he can once you have you have it done. So the important thing is to always get an electrician who looks like he’ll just be doing his job and not poking around. Don’t talk to him much and act aloof, do your stuff and let him do his. Secondly, it’s never a bad idea to mix it up. Ask him for a few DC connections, perhaps a 110V connection for where you plan to keep your TV in future.

setting up a photography studio and darkroom.

here in CO, weed-friendly electricians advertise all the time on Craigslist.
Yeah and I happen to hire a regular, on-the-fence about even helping me, not so knowledgable about pot electrician that I found on Google here in Colorado. Probably paid the same if not more too for the work.
