Sorry didn't know you had a thread started, I just thought it would be fun to share the video. It's been out for a while, but IDK just thought about throwing it out there.
There's a thread about people not believing science, and I think this is a great for instance of why not believing what were told, in school for instance, is good. These guys cover all their bases and it makes a lot of sense to me. .I'm glad you share the opinion.

I'm still hesitant over their inability to formalize their theories. There are more palatable versions of plasma cosmology coming from people like Tony Perrat. But two people in particular worth reading/watching are Don Scott and P.M. Robitaille. Those two are on to what seem valid paths. The rest of the people in the Electric Universe crowd are more hand-wavy, which leaves me feeling like I just ate some Shanghai Chow Mein.

I know that, but he has made efforts to actually formalize the theories along the lines of Hannes Alfven.
And PM Robitaille's work challenges some of the core principles. Compare Scott's work to that of Wal Thornhill, and you'll get a better idea of what I mean. Don't get me wrong, I love all their efforts, but after a while I want to see some meat, not just the wrapper.

Isn't there a good reason for the term "electromagnetism?"
Does there even need to be an argument for one over the other?
Most things are both. My completely unsubstantiated wild guess, is that it's not "only" either of them, but rather the interplay between the two forces, which drives the universe.
Or oversimplified: "everything interacting with everything else (with which each particular thing interacts) is what makes everything what everything is."
I think the reasoning behind finding a single cause for anything, is pretty flawed.

Either I'm not seeing a message you are responding to, or you might be misunderstanding the matter.
Electricity and Magnetism are linked and have been known to be as such since the ~1860s (cf. Maxwell's Equations).

You know, it's not as crazy as it sounds.
Gravity is still poorly understood. Effects we see in the Universe sometimes get thrown on the shoulders of gravity when EM is the overlooked culprit.

Interesting, but I prefer Science Fiction from authors such as Robert Heinlein. That whole Swannanoa thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It has an odor of Scientology or AMORC to it.
I presume though, you are referencing his work under the heading "Electric Universe"? Do you know anything about it, or can provide a summary of what he hypothesized?

I just can't wrap my mind around the whole "gravity is particles" thing.
Is there anything that isn't particles? Maybe "everything is particles" is the answer.
Also: this is totally leading us toward the discovery of Midichlorians. Wait... maybe gravity is actually midichlorians!?
