Edible restriction

They (the State Grand Poobahs) are accepting public comments on this new rule:

[email protected].

Mebbe if they make the edibles gray, tasting like cabbage, and in the shape of a cat turd, with opaque, locking packages, they might be allowed?

I think the major complaint from the other side is how some of these products are packaged in a way that they believe appeals to kids more than as a medicine. Hopefully a middle ground can be found because I have met plenty of people who ONLY consume edibles due to health restrictions as well as the longer lasting effects.

I agree Southerner, and I get why they don't want it packaged and tasting like candy, with pictures of Strawberry Shortcake skipping under a rainbow. :-) I'm sure we all know of someone who's dog or unsuspecting parent ate some cookies from the tupperware in their kid's room and ended up trippin' balls for 2 days. But the majority of *us* have been pretty good human or pet parents, and managed to keep the medicine and Draino away from the kiddies and critters.

As far as Medibles being appealing, and trying to reduce the sexiness of weed and the curiosity with the teenage or preteen crowd -- no rules or packaging changes are going to work there.

It does screw a lot of patients over though. Maybe dispensaries will start offering cooking classes -- and selling bags of trim for cheap so patients can make their own? I dunno.

If memory serves california (and more recently colorado) went through this a few years ago, in the end neither state banned it, in fact I don't think either state actually restricted it. Hopefully Oregon will backtrack and follow the same path. Do comment on it though people! Just like the dispensary bans, the cities (and counties) that do so, need to understand that dispensaries help them and do not increase crime...

In the mean time, a few dispensaries sell thc infused cooking oil (keeps a lot better than butter!), get a bottle of that and a box of Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix, (20-Ounce) and you'll be a happy camper. If you want something less intense, if you opt to vaporize, you can make some decent butter with the vapor-poo, enough to give you relief and not enough that you'll lose track of much time....

That said, I still haven't figured out how to make lollys yet.... hopefully I'll figure that out next :)

There was a lollipop recipe in the Cooking section here -- I was going to try it, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Lemme know if it works!

Hopefully they will let the dispensaries sell treats. Sigh.
