So im doing this as a first timer I mean virgin to dro systems. I want to use an ebb and flow system and i only have a space of 3*7. What should i do, as far as lighting and type of system, I am open to all suggestions and i also dont know where to find viable seeds. I live in texas so this state is stiff and I can use all the help i can get, im tired of crappy stuff and i know i could grow well given the right mentors. Im not trying to grow for production by the way just mearly trying to yeild about 6 - 7 ounces. So to sum it up I need to know what type of ebb & flow will support enough to plant life to produce the 6 -7 oz and what type of light would be sufficient for that of growing. Also is this even possible with a 3*7 room? HELP ME PLEASE :leaf:

I have just the thing for you...

Become a Fucthead... :bigjoint:

Here is how you do it...

Read these 3 threads back to back a few times...

Only read Al's posts, as he quotes every question and relevant comment...

If you can walk away from it.. it really isn't for you...

But if you copy what you see, the results will be the same as well...

Scale it up or down to suit your needs... and don't forget to check in regurlarly at the GrowFAQ

Oh yeah... almost forgot to give you the Fuct links...

Get a harvest every 2 weeks

A batch of clones in rockwool

Al B. FAQt

Hope this helps... :bigjoint:

Here is something that might help you...

How do I make an ebb & flow
hydroponic system?

The goal: To demonstrate the construction of an Ebb & Flow hydroponic system.

The system being constructed is small, however the design is the same as larger systems.

Parts list...

  • Restaurant bus tub, 15 1/2" x 20 1/2" x 4 1/2", flood tray.
  • Restaurant bus tub, 15 1/2" x 20 1/2" x 7", reservoir.
  • Reservoir lid, 15 3/4" x 22".
  • Overflow fitting.
  • Fill/drain fitting.
  • Water pump, 70 gph.
  • Tubing, 1/2" ID.
  • Aquarium air pump.
  • Air stones.
  • Green air line.

Notice, in the pictures above, the one inch holes, in the flood tray for the overflow, and fill/drain fittings, also, the two inch holes in the lid, for the fittings to pass through.

A view of the plumbed flood tray with lid. See how it fits over the fittings.

This is a view of the reservoir with lid, and plumbed flood tray.

Here, it's all assembled. The water and air pumps are not shown. The power cord, and air lines fit between, the reservoir and lid. A small notch may need to be added, to avoid pinching the air lines, and to help the flood tray sit level.

Assembled with six 5 1/2" square pots. Notice the easy access to both fittings. The fill/drain fitting has a connector for a 1/2" hose, under the screen. Remove the screen, connect the hose, turn the pump on, and pump out the nutrient solution. Makes reservoir change outs very easy.

    Another view of the system.

    Note: Choosing a container...

Not all containers are made equal. Some are very sturdy, while others are not. Using a weak container will only lead to failure and a flood. Choose heavy duty containers. Also, some containers will need a center support to keep them level under the weight of the nutrient solution.

    Note: About sizes...

The reservoir should be large enough, to hold two, to three times the volume of the flood tray or table. The pump should be sized to flood the tray in 5 min. or less.

I hate recommending you flower with anything less than a 600 HPS...

In all honesty, my 3xt room would have 2 3x3 trays with 2 600 hps...

split each tray in2 and you have the 4 sectors for a perpetual grow...

You can scale it all down to a single 250HPS and one plant ever 2 weeks or a 400 HPS and get 2 to 3 plants every 2 weeks...

If I split one of my 600 trays in four, I would get 6 every two weeks...

I am averaging 1/2 to 3/4 oz per plant now... so can you...:-P

I have these and I am very happy with them...

Thats rockin and what i needed to know but under much research i have decided that i will be using a SH bubbleponic system. I got all of my research from here and various other websites... although i am curious....Could i have both set ups in my space? or only 1 because of the space?needless to say i might do the ebb flow because it would be cheaper to construct where as the sh is more expensive....sounds like i have some more research to do huh? THANKS BUNCHES AND IF you have an answer to the ? about doing both let me knowbongsmilie

You are welcome...

Glad I can help...

As for can you? sure.. you can do whatever you like...

But if you are asking me what I would do...

The answer is simple... EBB FLOW...

I have done DWC and loved it... absolutely wonderful...

But the EBB FLOW is sooooo much more user friendly... I mean lazy stoner friendly...

Go with what you know.. but if I were you, I would copy Al B. Fuct's plans...

Ebb flow is your friend.. simple and easy and cheap and reliable and proven and I can keep going and going...:eyesmoke:

Best of luck....

While I am here....

this is what you need for your 3x7 room... 2x 3x3 tray + 2x 600 hps = happy farmer...:bigjoint:

Ps. 3x3 trays are not all 3x3... make sure to measure...;-)

how would i make ebb and flow work with the sea of green effect? Is it possible with that method of ponics?Im only asking because im so torn between you and Roseman....The only 2 ways that i really wanna try are ebb and flow and bubbleponics.... how many plants should i try workin with since its my first run? should i try and fill each spot and go from there? I am buying feminized seeds.I will be getting some P.P.P , Snow White, And Medusa. They are all indica/sativia strains with a 15 - 20% THC content. I would like to be able to raise my plants by incorporating that method while still being able to obtain the maxium amount of potency. How much of yeild is plausiable with my size room or the 2 -3x3 trays? I basically just have a naked closet. Its and out side closet on patio in my second floor apt. Will the ebb & flow going to be able to wk with those type of surrondings? My patio is closed off with a large wicker patio cover and lots of plants so cant even see my sliding glass door. I can get in and out of the closet with easy access. I need to put something on the walls though because they are baren on even sheet rock. You can still see the wood. I was thinkin i could hang some white plastic tarp on the walls to facilitate alot of reflection. any suggestions? Thanks for all your help Your really helping find a way that will suit me best. Ive got 2 small sons and im still in college. Luckily I am able to stay home and attend class at night. With this amount of time be suitable to maintain my garden?Im getting off point, just thanks...i really appreaciate it all and when i get my first succesful harvest the first amazing home grown bowl will be for you!
peace,love, and lots of bud

Not sure what you mean by this question...

Look at this pic, it represents the SOG style.. wether you are using soil hydro bubble or not.. the concept stays the same...

you harvest 1/4 capacity every two weeks (for an 8 week strain)

Is it possible with that method of ponics?
You can do SOG with any type of grow, it is not ebb/flow specific

Im only asking because im so torn between you and Roseman....
I will say that Roseman is a GREAT GUY!

And I should not be in that sentence...

This guy should...

Al B. Fuct

once had a dog named
Mr. Ganja

Everything I do is copying him... 98% Al B/Fuct...

And since he is not around these days, I am helping spread the Fuct word...

But NONE of this is mine..

If anything, you should be torn between Roseman and Al B. Fuct...

But thanks for the kind words...:-P

The only 2 ways that i really wanna try are ebb and flow and bubbleponics....
There are soooo many ways to grow....

I am trying to get really good at ONE.. than I can go out and play.. but I really want to get this down to a science...

how many plants should i try workin with since its my first run?
If you are doing SOG, you should fill your space to 1/4 capacity, and fill the other 1/4s every 2 weeks...

The hole point of SOG is to have the rotating perpetual harvest...

should i try and fill each spot and go from there?
I am not sure what you mean here... but I have a feeling I answered it just above...

I am buying feminized seeds.I will be getting some P.P.P , Snow White, And Medusa. They are all indica/sativia strains with a 15 - 20% THC content.
I am so ignorant... I know nothing about strains...

I can tell a sative from an ondica, but all I have are unknowns...

Oh wait, I still have a Juicy Fruit mom... yay!!!!

I would like to be able to raise my plants by incorporating that method while still being able to obtain the maxium amount of potency.
Incorporating THAT method????

You mean SOG..??

It will not affect the strentgh of you strain in any negative way...

It will be as strong as the DNA and the health of the plant allow...

How much of yeild is plausiable with my size room or the 2 -3x3 trays?
You can figure most everyone is getting 1/2 to 3/4 oz per lollipop...

How many 1 gallon pots can you fit in your tray? that's how much you can get...

I basically just have a naked closet.
If you are smart, you can have a really nice set up in your closet, but proper setups are not cheap, there is an initial investment that comes back quick, but has to be made UP FRONT...

Its and out side closet on patio in my second floor apt.
What type of climate are you in..?

If you are my neighbor, you can grow there 3 weeks of the year...

Unless you plan on growing ice cubes...

Will the ebb & flow going to be able to wk with those type of surrondings?
The surroundings or the ebb flow don't matter at all...

What matters is .. CAN YOU CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT SUITABLE FOR CANNABIS??? inside of the closet...

I mean, will it get too hot? will it get too cold...

Chances are it wil be "too something" and you wil have to deal with it...

Dealing with it means injecting cash to purchase equipment to overcome the "too whatever" it is you are fighting...

My patio is closed off with a large wicker patio cover and lots of plants so cant even see my sliding glass door. I can get in and out of the closet with easy access.
Easy access is good... and you are upstairs, so no one has access from the outside... right?!?!?

I need to put something on the walls though because they are baren on even sheet rock. You can still see the wood.
Panda Film works really good, I love it...

I was thinkin i could hang some white plastic tarp on the walls to facilitate alot of reflection. any suggestions?
6mil Black & White Panda Film...

Thanks for all your help Your really helping find a way that will suit me best.
You are welcome..

Ive got 2 small sons and im still in college. Luckily I am able to stay home and attend class at night.
best of luck.. and MAKE SURE YOU ARE SMART ABOUT YOUR GROW...

As you said, you must be PRESENT for the little ones...

Be careful...

With this amount of time be suitable to maintain my garden?
Well, I have just gotten out of surgery... I have managed to make it in there once a week for the last 3 weeks...

The last time I was in there, I took those pics...

Is that low maintenance enough for you?

Im getting off point, just thanks...
Sure man.. it's no thing... people helped me... it's just another cycle...

i really appreaciate it all and when i get my first succesful harvest the first amazing home grown bowl will be for you!
Thanks, but now I will expect to see a picture of THAT bud before it is smoked... :-P

peace,love, and lots of bud

rockin, so If i use the bubbleponics system that roseman has and i have 12 plant spots i should in retrospec be able to produce around 10oz? I think i might move this whole thing into my bedroom closet which is a 5*5. I walked in there a little while ago while i was roasty and realized that i had a huge closet.I was considering 2 possibilities a set up for the ebb and flow or the stealhydo bubbleponics system with 2 6 plant tanks with 2 water resivours, It has all the food and nutes everything.Cept the lights. Roseman swears by it.What is the most recsourceful way to use the space? I mean in retro i could only have the 12 with his and with the ebb flow about how many?I dont know how to clone and i dont understand that part of the diagram where the mothers go to clones and the clones make up the other plants? That im not understanding because the seeds i have, here are there stats how will these growing and harvesting times wk out with the SOG harvesting times. Im scared thats what i am going to mess up. I dont know when harvest and turn the lights on or off and ive been reading but im lost....ughhh...you have been so much help im glad im studying before doing.neways like i said heres the stats for the medusa

:
  • Plant type: Best suitable for indoor growing.
  • Plant height: Medium- Indica/Sativa mix
  • Stoned or high?: Stoney yet high- Allround Buzz
  • THC level: Strong 15-20%
  • Flowering Weeks: 8/10
  • Yield (Sea of Green on one m2) : 300-400
  • Harvest Month: 9/10
  • Grow difficulty: Moderate
Here are the stats for the P.P.P
:
  • Plant type: Best suitable for indoor growing.
  • Plant height: Medium- Indica/Sativa mix
  • Stoned or high?: Stoney yet high- Allround Buzz
  • THC level: Strong 15-20%
  • Flowering Weeks: 8/10
  • Yield (Sea of Green on one m2) : 350-450
  • Harvest Month: 9/10

:
  • Plant type: Best suitable for indoor growing.
  • Plant height: Medium- Indica/Sativa mix
  • Stoned or high?: Stoned- Indica Body Buzz

  • Flowering Weeks: 8/10
  • Yield (Sea of Green on one m2) : 350-450
  • Harvest Month: 9/10
  • Grow difficulty: Moderate
So i see that it says Yield then SOG on one M2 is that meter squared and is 350-450 grams or what? You asked about my climate I live in texas, If i grow inside what does the temputre need to be at?Also one thing that has been making me crazy....when and how do i if at all have to flush my plants when using the SH bubbleponics system because i dont think there stuff is organic and i thought you had to flush you plants before harvest? Afterwards how long is the curing process with dro i mean i know it can be as long as possible but I mean the shortest time i can go without comprimising taste or quality?Im really glad i found this place and you gypsy....let me know with your wise guidance....

I am going to try to answer you without breaking it al ldown, as I think it will be more efficient, but if I miss something, let me know...

First of all...

Cloning is easy.... very easy... it becomes tricky when you want close to 100% success every time...

In SOG, cloning is VITAL...

So let's look at the process from the seed....

Plant seed....

Let seed grow...

When the plant has many branches, you clip one (now called a cutting or a clone)... make sure to mark which clone came from which plant, if multiple plants are being cloned... this is very important, mark them...

Take your (unrooted clone) and follow one of the many methods described here (I recommend Al's technique)... which will include some kind of rooting hormone ($6 for a year's worth) and either RW cubes or RR plugs... or whatever you choose... (I recommend following Al's like a recipe)...

when the clone has developed roots (10-14 days if everything goes well) you stick that clone into flower ...

After the clone in flower has shown sex, you can remove the male clones and the donating plant, as it is male as well, even though it may not have shown sex yet...

clones are identical to the moms... same dna... they are the same plant...

get rid of the males altogether....

now you have a harem of females...

You can take clones from them and throw the clones into flower, SOG single cola style...

SO...

you have the moms...

You take clones from the moms and root them...

you put the rooted clones into flower...

you take more clones, root them...

harvest when they are done and throw in some more clones...

Now... if you were to get a true 4x4 tray (16sqft)in your big closet, and you followed Al's 4 plants/sqft... you could have up to 64 plants... 16 every 2 weeks...

You do the math...

Deff. put a cooltubed 1000 HPS over that big of a tray...

My house is very dry, because of the heaters going all the time... I dry for 3 days and cure my headstash for at least 3 to 4 weeks...

OK what did I miss..???:o

lol i love it!!! and you missed nothing my dear so everything is pretty much answered. Let me see Im gonna buy my seeds and Im gonna plant those girls and let them grow....while they are getting ready to bud themselves use the bottom branches that i will probably have to cut anyways and put it in a rockwool cube and let it go to town and grow itself....Once the mothers bud and i harvest what do i do with them then?Do i toss them or will they keep blooming? Is this the general Idea....So if i go by the 4x4 grow trays what do start the mothers out it?I mean in the picture the mothers are seperate and then there are theyre clones which you make more plants from sooo...i guess i just keep the mothers alive continuely so to get more clones?I think I might be a bit worried about setting up my ebb&flow system....I will follow your instructions....i could order all my supplies online or where would i go to pick all this stuff up at? Hey can i give you my personal email and send you some pics of my closet and stuff then i guess "we" can go from there since your pretty much my guru at this point,lol....i look forward to getting on here now just to get your good advice....ttys

Hey.. I really don't mean to burst your bubble...

But you have some research to do ....

You need to read this...

Get a harvest every 2 weeks

A batch of clones in rockwool

Al B. FAQt

Really...

But... while you catch up... let's ee if I can help...

The plants will not bud as long as you keep the lights on more than 18 hours a day...

So you can keep a mother alive and veging for a long time...

You will need a small box for the moms... and a small box for the clones...

I have a corner of the room light proofed with panda film and keep my moms and clones together...

Just take the time to read those threads... you will learn a LOT... and it will probably save you money and give you good ideas...

Al should be your guru... not me...

I'll help, but you have to be following him and his method... I am just a copycat and refuse to take credit...
