Ebb and Flow vs RDWC

I'm about to make the jump into the big leagues and get a hydro system. I've read many arguments going one way or the other in terms of what is "better". I'd love to get some feedback from anyone who has had experience with these kinds of systems.

I have a 5x5x7'11" tent using a 715W actual draw COB (https://www.johnsongrowlights.com/products/cx-16) and have narrowed it down to 2 different systems:
1) Titan Controls Flo-n-Gro (I read that all 12 buckets could fit in a 5x5 if the reservoir is kept outside the tent, but figure it'd be safer to use between 6 and 9 instead, but if you think 12 would fit, let me know please!): http://growershouse.com/flo-n-gro-system-w-oceanus-1
2) SuperCloset Bubble Flow Buckets - 6 Site: http://growershouse.com/supercloset-bubble-flow-buckets-hydroponic-grow-system-6-site

I understand that these could be done in a DIY project, but I'm all thumbs and would rather overpay and have more confidence in the fittings. Also, my wife is convinced I'd screw it up if I tried to build it myself and she'd hate me if I flooded our place.

With that said, any input would be much appreciated. Thank you.

A rdwc system is stupid easy thing to build homie. I can walk you through it all. Just buy the black 5 gal buckets from home depot online and ship to store to pick up. Buy rubber grommets on eBay for 1" & 1/2". Also buy the barbed fittings online. 1" tees, straight couplings, and elbows. And the same for 1/2" but by some crosses and Wyes too.

Cut your holes with a step bit from harbor freight. You can't fuck up using these. Then all you need is black vinyl tubing of 1" &1/2" & also black airline tubing for your air pumps and air stones. A 9 site system like mine can be built in an hour.

F&D Beds. Used to time my week long fishing trips right after harvest. Would reload the beds, raise the lights way up, put new batteries in the digital timers, and go fishing for a week, no problem. Figured if there was ever a problem, I just lost cuttings, not something close to harvest.

Love it! That was one of my concerns, because I do love taking long range fishing trips where I'm gone for a few days.

Where do you get those tops? Is there a basket in the bucket or you just fill it with pebbles?
It's an ez peEl lid from home depot website and there's a 6" hole ive cut in them that snugly fits the net pots, which are filled with hydroton. You just trace the net pot top onto the lid, then cut out about a 1/4" in from it.
Pics show what I mean.20160822_134447.jpg 20160829_224134.jpg

Easily a #.
Awesome. Airline tubing? Do you need a big pump for the stones? Sorry for the dumb endless questions but this is an amazing setup and where I want to go. Soil is expensive and a pain in the ass. Nothing is easy but lugging soil bags gets old. Thank you.

Ya they sell black air tubing on eBay that I use. I'm BIG on light proofing. But I use one 530gph & one 1176gph air pump for my stones. 6 outlets on the bIG one to six buckets and 3 on the other one. I believe in lots of air. But they're SO LOUD. I would reccomend air force brand. I'm going to try without air stones next run and see If the waterfalls are enough to create dissolved oxygen.

How are spider mites in RDWC versus soil? I hate f***king spider mites and I am getting to hate soil. Thanks "homies." :-|

Also, there's a dual diaphragm air pump that I think general hydro or Hydrofarm or something they sell that's supposed to be very quiet.
