**EASY DIY $20 BUBBLE CLONER** A PICTURE HOW TO!

How high do you keep water levels?
I keep the cut stem submerged about 3/4" until roots appear then drop the water to put about an inch or two of "air space" between the cut end and the water so the roots get a definite oxygen supply.

For all the skeptics, I cut clones ten days ago from two plants that were almost 2 weeks into flower, you can clearly see tufts of pistils. If you clone from a plant in veg it takes less time... using ONLY TAP WATER this is my results thus far:

I know they could be looking a bit better, but this is just tap water and bubbles

The 4 that already have nice roots are from a strain called Talkeetna Old Man its softer stemmed than the 4 white widow that are in there too.

Well, if one can order them dart nerf things that cheap online, I might try too.
For how long can you let it root without issues? I'd like to see a picture of the underside of the lid, with clones in it, after e.g. 5-10 days, to see the root growth...
I'll do the same to mine - compare :)
I've let some go for as long as 4 weeks before transplant, but also have seen them ready to plant in 5 days...Here's some cheapys on amazon:

Thanks for the pic mate :)

It's a bit hard to compare with mine though, as the clones we take are all from vegging plants and furthermore we add both superthrive and clonex cloning solution to the water, so while I got a lot more root mass than you after 10 days, it's a very unfair comparison.
I'm planning to do a comparison between a PVC cloner with ez-cloner cloning heads (them little red sturdy fuckers) versus a fairly ordinary bubble bucket. The container, water, temperature, PH value, cloner setup and water amendments I'll keep identical, so only the method is different . . .
We're moving the plants in the cloner tomorrow, transplanting half to bubble buckets and the other half to soil. After they're transplanted, the two new batches would be in the comparison...

add a check valve, or elevate your air pump ABOVE water lever in bucket......

Learned the hard way years back
check valve is obviously required:roll: the damn air pump comes with one and it explicitly tells you not to forget it.... you can also put the air line pointed straight in vertically from the top and add a little extra air line and hang a bit down in a "drip loop" that prevents syphoning into the pump....

o'k bro here is my try at your folgers bucket with single plant at 12 days from sprout looking pretty good if one turns out to be a nice pheno i will go ahead and put your set up to work with the cloner! thanks again for sharing this plant is moving faster at this stage than the one in 5 gallon i have....by the way i used a mini fruit cup for the rockwool basket...day 24 009.jpgday 24 006.jpg

Hope you don't mind the jack, but I think you will find my version even better, and simpler

I found making holes the size of a 3" net pot eliminates any transfer shock + allows root system to develop within gravel.

Instead of a 5g round bucket, I use a low storage tote which allows for 6 @ 3" net pots.

I use a 4 head air pump (~ 19 lpm) and lay 4 large oxystone cylinders sideways.

you may think its easier or better or more simple, that wasn't the point of the thread.... The point was $20 and an everyday visit to wally-world. no tools are really needed to make this, and that's what I was going for. Not everyone wants to go to the grow store for net pots, and then the pet store for air stones and a pump, then to walmart for a tote, and finally to the hardware store to buy a DRILL AND 3" HOLE SAW....
I chose to showcase a method that does not require ANY specialty tools, unless you consider a pentel RSVP ink pen and nerf darts "specialty tools"...
Just because I'm curious, how much did EVERYTHING you used to make that cost? I bet just the HOLE SAW cost $20.....
So, long story short YES I do mind, but only because your cloner is NOT AT ALL within the spirit of this guide. I appreciate your ideas but again this is not a
"toss together" disposable kind of cloner....

I did this on my first go around! I used extra tubing that I didn't need for my lines from the air stone. Super easy, I had to use bottled water because my tap is shit-450 ppm, but it works well! I went to Rapid Rooters just because I had a bunch, but this method works well! All my old pics are on another forum and gone from my personal library but I can vouch for its effectiveness!

Bump!

I'm using a 10 quart oil pan because my Walmart didn't have small enough airstones to fit into the coffee container. So then because my container is larger I upgraded to bigger air pump with two outlets and two airstones.

But the concept is the same I think, I'll post the total cost in a bit.
