ok i just made a DWC out of a 30 gal tub cut 6 holes in the top have 3 inch net pot in all of them i have 2 air stones that are the long ones hooked up to a 60gal hour the bubbles are popping and what splashes out the holes but i have the water lower then where the net pot would sit about a inch or two. would i even need the drip set up im just gonna be using clones so when their roots show i should just be able to put them in the net pot at the bottem with some hydroton and wouldnt even need the drip bc the water splashes up to where the roots would be right??? im using root wool for my clones and just gonna wait till the roots show out the bottem then but the rock wool on the bottem of the net pot and put hydroton on top so the rockwool would get wet from the bubbles popping right? im new to hydro not growing lol

also im using the flora from G.H. for my nuts also have some root boost thats al the nuts im gonna be using any more i should get.
also light ill just have to pic a pic its confusing im using CFL i know its around 12 x 2500 luminas
IMG_20120929_102257.jpg the strains are bag seeds just try try out dont want to fuck up good seeds

as long as your medium aka the hydroton is soaking moisture then no need for a drip set when the roots start dropping out the net pots lower the water a bit to make them search for the water and the bubbles popping should be enough to keep them feeding looks alot like my setup only i have 12 3inch dixiecuppots in a much smaller rez yours will have plenty of room to get big :-) good luck keep us all posted.

Similar setup here mate and I never use drippers. If you are worried just pour some water from the top of your pots into the res each day for first week or so to keep 'em moist.

You don't need anything other than what you already have. Raise the water level until the bottoms of your net baskets actually are IN the water so the new roots of your plants can touch it. Then just do what you usually do- watch them and take care of them. I'm also new to hydro and I might never go back to dirt. Seriously.

If I can do it you can. If no pH meter then buy one NOW and make it a good one. Same for PPM meter and don't buy a combo unit for the 2.

Before i busted out and spent hundos on good meters id just get a Cheap 20buck ph and ppm pen.
They work fine i have Oakton meters and my ppm went bad after 8yrs and use a pen for ppm now
its fine just wont last as long.If you decide you are gonna like doing soiless then upgrade when needed.

Just top it up, It's good to change the res but not necessary. I usually only change water when I go from grow to bloom nutrients or if its getting dirty for some reason.

I highly suggest doing the Lucas formula, simple, easy, cheap and will only need a Flower booster.
You gonna try and grow 6 in there?GL

I do 6 in a 55l bin , veg them to about a foot then flower, they always do well and don't overcrowd each other. You can put 6 bins under a 600w HPS with good results. With 2400w had a nice SOG going and was getting 15-20 zips per 6 bins. Going much smaller these days but 6 plants per bin is fine as long as you don't grow 'em huge

yea i was thinking once i get my stages timed out and everyhting i got 8 lights and 8 bins im going for havest ever 2 weeks so that lets them grow 2 months in veg and 2 months flower for each bin but i think thats to long veg once i switch to clones from seeds
