Hey everyone. I live in a place where I have to haul my own water up to my house. So as you can imagine water conservation is important to me. So instead of dumping my buckets out and refilling every week, I was looking for a formula to calculate what nutes my plants have used and how to figure out what I need to add back in. Thank you!! I use the full line of AN if this helps.

Every plant is different, so the only way to know is to test the reservoir's ec/ppm, add water and adjust accordingly taking into account the ratios needed for the stage of growth.

I do this quite often as well. I only res dump every 3-4 weeks. I do just fine and I keep track of how many fresh gallons of water I put in, and than add the according nutrients. I find myself going through a lot of cal-mag personally.

Ya I know they all eat and drink differently just like us so every single feeding schedule is custom or personalized. How do I f

Thanks this helped. That's the picture I was trying to get in my head. Add pure water then adjust ppm accordingly. Thanks!!

Lol idk what happens to my message but I understand now. Just check daily for ppm difference add water then adjust back to optimal levels. Thanks!

There isn't a way to determine how much of each element you need to add without a serious chemistry lab. If I was you, I'd find a way to transport water more efficiently.

Hey @Spanky84 if you "read" your plant or spend a good amount of time with your plant than you will notice which nutrients you need most (assuming you are self taught, educated, or have some material to reference). I actually look at my plants for a good length of time checking color, faded spots, any signs of bugs, mold, etc. It's easy once you know what your looking for to be able to read a plant and add the appropriate TLC~!

You are right though. You DONT know 100% what nutrients in what ratios are left in the water. Theres no meter for that, the meters we use just tell us Total Dissolved Solids. I know Im rambling about facts many of you guys already know about but Im high =) More thread posts never hurt anyone +1!~

I think if you wait till your buckets get real low and then just add the same ratio you put in to begin with you will be about right.

Still i'd chuck the remaining water every month or so.

I've read an over abundance of certain nutrients locks out other nutrients.

I never dumped water, and. Ever cared about some magic formula.

I would let my totes run til empty. Then refill. I never considered some magic formula. I just filled it back up as per bottle instructions and my plants did just fine (when i was actually looking after them.) people make growing way too complicated. You give it some nutes and some water, no need for clever little formulas.

But if you notice one element missing, what do you do? Comercialy available fertilizers most usually contain more than one component, so you can't add any of those without risk of causing toxicity with some other element.

Ok you keep doing you and growing your own cannabis. I applaud you for it. I'll use my "magick formula" AKA science and proven biological facts mixed with some experience to grow bud that'll likely blow your world away bongsmilie
