The way I understand it, Heisenberg has stated that adding molasses to the res will feed the slime, I dont know if that helps you or if it pertains to the product you are referring .....but it stands to reason that no matter what beneficial you put in the res, you cant stop the slime from feeding off the molasses....someone smarter than me might want to chime in as far as adding it to your res as a preventative..IE adding molasses to a non-infected (no slime) res so as to feed the beneficials,( in your case recharge) as a regimen of prevention......

    Hi,

I suppose you could try this if you have no problems in your res like slime or anything like that and just want to improve your roots. However, if you do have slime or pythium or any other problem I would not add this directly to your res. I searched it up and it contains molasses and kelp along with other food sources and this will cause the bad stuff to feed off of it and you will get brown mushy roots. :( I think it is a good product and if you were to use it I would brew it in a tea first so that the food sources get used up before being added to the res. :)

I tried ordering Hydroguard a while back on amazon, no luck wouldn't ship to Canada. Well low and behold, I guess after some months of my pending order that they wouldn't fill I guess they found a botanicare supplier here somewhere or someone willing to ship it and I got a bottle on my doorstep a couple days ago. The only downside is the courier left it outside, the bottle was frozen solid. I wonder if everything inside is dead?

The plus side of this also was after checking I see that ZHO is now available to ship to my location as well so I've got that on order, excited to get cooking Tea with all the ingredients. I see that my Mycho Heisenberg is using looks like that might ship here as well but I have to contact the company.

My first batch of tea is complete, EWC and Sub B only, added to roots yesterday, today a thin film of clear slime covers the roots, the plants seem happy, to be safe, I've added another airstone to the res to make sure it gets enough oxygen. The water smell has changed overnight as well, a little cloudy and has a really earthy smell. I think I'm going the right way.

I wonder if there's a certain fish that could eat that slime and continue to live in ur res or a type of leach or something if not continue to live just change res when slimes bin eaten I appreciate it's easier to make a heisenbrew just wondering if it's been done

I believe it ( nutes, ph up/down)...would kill the fish....from the small amount of "fish aquarium" info that has been posted here it seems like people will actually remove the fish when adjusting nutrient levels that fish need...such as ph and nitrates etc.....and those are things that fish need in certain quantities.....and Im no pacifist but I would lose sleep at night if I tried it and the fish ended up suffering and dying for my "needs".....of course I cant eat burgers after seeing that 20/20 special about the cows being abused, but thats just me....to each his own

My understanding is nothing like ph chems are needed as the fish and plants live in a symbiotic relationship...but I haven't immersed myself in the field either..
