68 is not optimal. Optimal is a wide range, because there will be always enough DO.
I don't know the exact optimal root temperature for every strain of cannabis, because there is not a lot of research done in that field.
But as long as you keep the temperature between 64 and 80, you are ok.
70 and 74... great.
The beauty is that absorbed oxygen is refilled on the spot. So there will be always more DO available then the roots can absorb.

There are not many places on earth that are so low below sea level that you would notice a difference.
I live below sealevel and no problem at all.

I visit a greenhouse that uses huge bassins for hydroponics with floating vegetables, herbs, plants.
In the summer of 2018 and 2019 the temperature in these bassins was over 77 degrees.
No problems at all. They even did not do something extra to make the water move (normally they run a pump every hour or half hour for 5 minutes.

I don't know everything. I did not say that.
But at least I try to be careful not to become a parrot who repeats everything he heard in the bro-science grapevine.

Mines been 64 since I started in April, I do realize I can achieve more DO at a higher temp but 64 is pretty trouble free, it might go 66-64 back and forth, my monitor steps in 2 degrees. I have nothing to compare it to, can’t say if 70 would of been better but I wouldn’t even attempt my setup over 72. I’m over 100 days now and in the home stretch. I quit reading your guys comments when I realized nobody’s wrong and we are getting way too into this. Set your temp where your comfortable and the equipment can handle, use uc or bennies if needed, there’s enough DO for the girls we roll with regardless, when you setup stones or falls correctly. And we are all pretty fucking stubborn too haha.

What do you mean by this?
How could you achieve more DO at a higher temperature?

Prob not the best wording, useful DO, Plants not going to use what it doesn’t need or can’t. I look at everything as potential, if there’s absolutely no other factors affecting the DO in the system, cold water holds more regardless. More is too often not better. I guess I meant you only need like 5mg for hydro so why even look at DO to start with. I think my results would be better at warmer temp, not because of DO, because every aspect works together, that better? You can also rabbit hole down the topic because the scale of info provided online is bullshit, I spent a couple years reading while I was unable to grow and was pulled in so many directions. Guess long of the short is I will sacrifice DO for other factors and pull off better results meaning DO is a pointless subject unless you have no common sense, sure the fuck wasn’t worth adding 2 pages to a old repeated topic that we all know... see the comment above, we are all stubborn as fuck.. I’m growing cannabis, not trying to do scientific research, I will take results over the internet anyday as well, which is higher temps for most resulting in less DO with a end result of healthy plants as a result of so many other factors that DO is at the bottom of the list (unless the common sense thing).

You have to admit some of the most hysterical arguments occur specifically on the Cannabis Boards/forums!

But nevertheless they are educational, but not without insults -- and not without the need to "read between the lines" so-to-speak...

Soooooo you're wrong and I showed you you're wrong and I'm stupid.....
Okayyyyy!
Like I said bro a thousand times fucking read!!!!! I'm not saying there's no O2 in water at higher temps.........
I'm saying that for plants the optimal temp for the best DO is 62-68°

Damnn I'm surprised it's 100 degrees out and you're still living...
