I got a GH Coco waterfarm and new growth is weird leaves curl under and look waterlogged at first then in like 3 days they look fine.PH is been at 5.8 to 6.0 and in first 2weeks of flower.I lowered the ph to 5.4, 5.5 today as i think its a ph problem.PPM is at 450.What do you DWC ppl think is happening,i am lost.Just dont get why new growth turns out fine after 3 days.Plants healthy and looks good besides this new growth.........

Hey there friend. What do you have as far as aeration going on. Leaves curling in hydro is usually 2 things.

1. wrong or swing of ph

2.Not enough 02 at the root zone. Your essentially "drowning" your plants. I see this more than anything
when it comes to Hydro, mainly dwc.

Hope this helps!

Some Beech: the drop of a half point is pretty drastic and that could explain the stress they exhibited. I've never heard of anyone recommending a drastic drop like that, where did you get that idea? I wish there was an easier way, but from what you ask I’d suggest you RTFB and refer to the following resources. You might want to concentrate on Cervantes and Rosenthal and Greg Green's books.
1. Read: SeeMoreBud’s, “MARIJUANA BUDS FOR LESS- GROW 8 OZ. OF BUDS FOR LESS THAN $100.” It’s a must for dirt gardeners using CFL’s.
2. You’ll also want to read: Mc McCarthy’s, “GROWING MARIJUANA.” It’s another must for dirt gardeners.
3. Read: Jorge Cervantes’s, “MARIJUANA HORTICULTURE THE INDOOR/ OUTDOOR MEDICAL GROWER’S BIBLE.” It’s great for dirt and hydro.
4. Read: Ed Rosenthal’s, “MARIJUANA GROWER’S HANDBOOK.”
5. “THE CANNABIS GROW BIBLE- SECOND EDITION,” written by Greg Green, is a match, if not better than, the ones listed above.
6. You should also subscribe to, “HIGH TIMES,” magazine. Each issue is full of useful information and excellent photography.
7. You might also want to subscribe to www.gardenandgreenhouse.net. It’s free and they offer a monthly news letter that always has a lot of good information, especially for newbies.
8. A lot of local hydroponics stores offer free weekend gardening classes. Admittedly they offer these classes as a means of boosting sales but they present some good information and they’re frequently taught by experienced gardeners.
All these resources are very well written, well illustrated and packed with information that will answer most of your questions before you know to ask them. Doing your homework before you grow by consulting these resources will save you and your plants a lot of stress. These forums are great but often they’re the blind leading the blind and when you do get it from a knowledgeable source they frequently can’t get the information you need to you in a timely fashion. I sincerely hope this helps.

I set in am from the start at 5.5 then at 7pm its up to 6.0.The only thing im doing different now is fluming instead air stones. So gonna go back to the stones.Just dont get why after 3 days the growth tht was funny looking looks fine!!!

Depending on brand of nutes, most of them contain ph balancers that attempt to hold the ph close to acceptable ranges. Continue to adjust down to 5.8 and keep ppm levels correct. I run around 800 ppm, 1000ppm after adding in the cal mag from my tap. This is on a .5 conversion.

Been using Lucas for yrs.....and additive for last weeks of flower.Get 2.5 -3 per plant.Just finished my Ebb n Grow DIY and waiting for clones to get big and established, before moving on to RDWC.

Friend owns hydro store he is going thru some tough times as his wife just was informed she has Cancer,So dont wanna bother him now.

He helped me do my RDWC,and he is pulling amazing numbers from His RDWC 4 -5 per,But damn his nutes are over 400bucks.

you dont need expensive nutes to get good numbers. lucas should be fine.

i run general hydro nutes and my ph is stable as a mofo. i dont even touch my ph up or down. also i get really nice yields. what is this coco thing you speak of? is it just that little coco matt that goes over your hydroton? i doubt that would cause any issue as i always cover mine to prevent algae and stuff
